+32 There's no way it was an "accident" that the Earth magically formed by itself and had oxygen, water, sunlight, and humans who "accidentally" were made but coincidentally had reproductive organs, brains, and body parts perfectly arranged so that we could move and breathe and think. Why couldn't God just have done all that stuff on purpose? amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

YEAH!!1111 GOD IS S0 REEL

by Anonymous 13 years ago

if there is a god who has the power to do all that, why is he such a cunt?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

its called evolution you retard humans evolved from monkey like creatures were instead of using broad strength to defend its self natural selection caused them to loose much muscle mass and develop a mechanical side of their brain !!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

then what did monkeys evolve from?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

monkeys evolved from anphibions or reptiles , i dont know the whole theory of evolution so dont be here saying that god mad all this happen , yes maybe if their is a god he gave some things like ,like putting the first amebas on the earth and letting life evolve from then , so im not doubting god i jus know that he didnt create humans the way they are now

by Anonymous 13 years ago

then where did all that other stuff evolve from? something can't appear from nothing

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Where did "God" appear from then? One day he just popped up in existence and started making stuff? What the fuck?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He's eternal. he has no beginning or end

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wow, Christians brainwash such idiots.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There's only so far back science can explain. One theory now is that the high temperature conditions of the earth post-impact with the meteor which created the moon happened to produce self-replicating RNA. After that, everything else could evolve. I haven't read a truly sound theory for the creation of RNA yet but after that, evolution makes sense.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think you could be taken more seriously if you could actually use some correct grammar and not sound like a stupid 12 year old.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Humans shared a common ancestor with apes; we did not evolve from them.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

read closely, he said "monkey like creatures", so it was poorly worded, but still the same as yours

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Please don't pretend you know what you are talking about. We did not evolve from monkeys, we are close relitives of the family, but a different species. If you want to get technical, they think that every single living thing has evolved from one ancient animal that resembles a rat. Actually pick up a text book and learn something before arguing it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's called the THEORY of evolution because it's just a theory, and a bad one at that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

AGREED.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're a fucking idiot. God ain't real you dumbfuck.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

He's more real than the THEORY of evolution.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'd much rather live life thinking there is a God then dying and realizing there isn't than live life thinking there is no God then dying and realizing there is.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, you didn't understand my post exactly, of course, I didn't say this, but it's implied. The "theory" of evolution isn't a theory, it's science, and it's true. I guess I change my mind, living life beleiving there is a greater source of power isn't a bad thing, but thinking the world is 6000 years old and Adam and Eve were the first people is stupid. You have to understand that if they were, all of the world would be products of incest. So God himself isn't stupid, the Bible is. Kapeesh?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So a perfectly life sustainable planet exploding from nothing is easier to believe than incest? Yeah, it's definitely the bible that's stupid

by Anonymous 12 years ago

(MacaroniSalad):I understand you.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Thanks. I might have one off sort if bitchy. I just don't see how the bible could be true....

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I try to believe it, but some of it seems sketchy. I haven't questioned my faith yet, though.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah. If someone asks I say I'm non-religous or I'm Unitarian Universalist.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Good answer, but some people will try to escort you to a church :P

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Happened before... I go to a

by Anonymous 12 years ago

My iPod is spazzing... What I meant to type was "I go to a Christian summer camp where it's diffacult to find the people like you, that just zone out when talking about God's beautiful creation and stuff. Not like I don't respect it, I just don't care.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The first half of the post refers to the creation of the Earth, while you are referring to only the evolution of species. I'd say the OP is 1/2 right. Evolution takes care of the existence of humans, but even Darwin himself thought there was something special about the creation of the planets.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm sorry, let me clarify. I don't mean the creations of the planets, but when I think about the creations of... the first substance, I always keep going backwards to find out where it begins. I get stuck at anti-matter, and I wonder where anti-matter comes from. And I don't know. You could say anti-matter always existed, but when did it start?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

humans didn't evolve from monkeys, at least not modern monkeys. they both evolved from a shared primate ancestor into the creatures that they are today.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Right, and the humans' ancestor is conveniently missing and nobody has been able to find it. Yet another blow against the nonsensical THEORY of evolution.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You are confusing a hypothesis and a theory. A theory is a well established principle. It arises from repeated observation and testing and incorporates facts, laws, predictions and tested hypotheses that are widely accepted. A hypothesis is what someone expects to happen. A theory has been extensively tested and is generally accepted, while a hypothesis is a guess that has yet to be tested. The THEORY of evolution has yet to be proven wrong.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Just because you can't prove something is wrong doesn't make it true. I have purple skin and I can run 100 mph. If you can't prove that I'm wrong, I guess it means I'm telling the truth.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

...that applies to religion too.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Sure it does. Everything in the bible has been proven to be true though.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If absolutely everything had been proven I'm pretty sure there'd be more Christians. But we're talking about evolution vs creation. And creation has not been proven, although it's in the bible.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It absolutely has been proven.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

just curious, how exactly?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

http://www.cuttingedge.org/News/n1362.cfm

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That article was so insane I actually had to read half of it before I could tell whether it was trolling or just stupid

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And I'm supposed to believe that you're some type of authority figure on how good articles are?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's a fact until proven wrong. That's where science's fatal flaw lies.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ok, humans did NOT evolve from monkeys. Humans and monkeys BOTH evolved from the same ancestor, but monkeys did not become humans. If humans evolved from monkeys, monkeys would no longer exist.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Right, a common ancestor that nobody can find any evidence of. How convenient.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes, because locating the body of a being that lived millions of years ago on a planet with a constantly changing environment is so incredibly simple.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Right, like how we have theories about these things called dinosaurs. Maybe someday we'll find physical evidence of them too.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

saying there is no other life forms on any other planet is like getting a drinking glass filling it up with ocean water and saying there is nothin in the ocean from that one water sample.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

single cell amoeba that lives off nitrogen which was what the earth was and still is covered with , then when the atmosphere began to become regular and temperate they multiplied causing competition and evolution to happen think of it how a tadpole turns into a frog but just think it doesn't end at a frog it splits into reptiles mammals and fish hope it cleared something up ,not doubting your believes like said before maybe god put the nitrogen living amoeba their but he DID NOT create humans as they are now that is just the churches way of saying what happened when the earth was made , because think of when the the old testament was written ? like barely anyone would have known about evolution so they had to say something to gain followers so what would be better than saying their almighty god made everything giving him much more power than possible

by Anonymous 13 years ago

In the Bible it says God created Man in his own image, and i might be wrong, but i don't think God is an amoeba

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't think the Bible is a valid source for an argument.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think an episode of South Park said it best. You can't take every little thing the Bible says as pure fact. Some stories are supposed to teach people a lesson. And in reality, it has the exact opposite effect of what it should have.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Tl;dr

by Anonymous 12 years ago

i never said god was, i said its possible that he created the 1st amoeba ! the book of genisis is fiction and the catholic church excepts it as such so theirs no pint of arguing with it

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well i'm not catholic so that's not a good argument against me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

then i will have a lager of truth as opposed to a pint of arguing ;)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm Catholic. Since when did the Pope make this holy announcement that the Book Of Genesis is fraud? And I don't think the Church would do that. They haven't exactly been friendly to scientists/freethinkers in the past.. *cough* Galileo *cough*

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't see why God couldn't have created...well...not really created..the big bang? You can say that evolution happened, but how come God didn't do it? I say both scientology and religion could go together up to a certain point.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Scientology...?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I see I used the wrong word. I'm tired. I should not have butted into a religious debate at this hour, and I apologize. Well. Not really.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No no no, I agree with you. I was just confused and assumed you meant science, not a crazy cult that believes we are controlled by brainwashed alien souls.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Oh. Okay then. Good. I didn't have the energy to defend myself, or look up anything to aid in correcting it. So you're saying you agree? I see no reason why people are either black or white on this issue. It's too big of a debate to know for certain.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's pretty much what I think. I see almost everything in shades of gray.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The fuck is this? I can't even.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

God <3

by Anonymous 12 years ago

WTF. OKAY. I HATE HOW PEOPLE AUTOMATICALLY REJECT GOD. AS I SAID EARLIER: "I'd much rather live life thinking there is a God then dying and realizing there isn't than live life thinking there is no God then dying and realizing there is."

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeap, agreed, it's so sad so many people don't understand how much God loves them.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't get how your post gets a negative vote.. good luck in HELL. Hope GOD saves your souls.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think a problem with this argument is because people will say that Earth is so perfectly suited to our needs that it doesn't make sense that it wasn't created for us. But I think that it's twisting the theory of evolution. The whole point is that we evolved to fit this Earth. Yes, that means Earth is suited for us but EARTH CAME FIRST. So we were the ones made for Earth. Through evolution.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Keyword--THEORY of evolution. It's just a theory.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Okay, yes. But even so that argument doesn't work against the theory.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's just a theory; it's not proven. That goes against it on its own.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The story of evolution is not proven either, and don't use the Bible as proof.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Of course the THEORY of evolution isn't proven. That's my whole point. If there were a shred of evidence in favor of it, then it wouldn't be just a THEORY.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It still would be a theory. The is only not enough evidence to say that evolution is THE trued and nothing else. And it will always be a theory. The only way to make it a real sience fact is by testing it. And not many people have a couple millions years to test this theory.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Do you even know what a scientific theory IS?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Then you'd know that to become a theory, there must be a substantial amount of evidence to become a theory from a hypothesis. Theories explain laws.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

THEORY, not fact.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

...You seem to be failing to grasp the concept. Theories are basically the facts of the scientific community. Theories are tried and tested again, without being disproved. That's why they're theories. That's the farthest you can get, and the closest you can get to being fact. Theories do not become laws. Laws are the phenomenon, theories explain them.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It wouldn't be a THEORY if they could prove it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

DO YOU BELIEVE IN GRAVITY??? DO YOU?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Gravity is not a theory.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Are you not reading anything I'm typing? Theories are proved. They're just called theories. Oh, just read this: http://chemistry.about.com/od/chemistry101/a/lawtheory.htm Or this if you feel about.com isn't valid: http://wilstar.com/theories.htm Or even this: http://sci.waikato.ac.nz/evolution/Theories.shtml And if you're really thick: http://science.kennesaw.edu/~rmatson/3380theory.html

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, it would be a law like gravity if it were proven.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm pretty sure you're just trolling now. If you even read any of those, you would understand that gravity is a law because it is a phenomenon. Evolution is a theory because it explains HOW we got to where we were today. It can't get any more factual than a theory. Gravity does not explain how something happens. Seriously, you must be trolling now. I just gave you four sites that explain what a theory is versus what a law is, and you are still trying to say that a theory becomes a law. If you won't believe anything I try to show or tell you, I give up. Your stupidity is obnoxious. It's after 1 am where I am. Goodnight.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Tl;dr. Did you have any other THEORIES you wanted to tout as fact? Like back when they had a THEORY that the earth was flat?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're an idiot. If you've read any of my past comments, you'd know that theories cannot become laws, because laws do not explain why, whereas theories do. The theory that the earth was flat was not a scientific theory, as the theory of evolution is. Non-scientific theories and scientific theories are totally different, and if you've been reading anything I've written, you'd know that. However, you're thick and are refusing to read all evidence as to why you're wrong.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Tl;dr. How about coming up with a THEORY about why monkeys are still here when we supposedly "evolved" from them?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

We didn't evolve from them, we have common ancestor. Okay, let me dumb it down for you, since you're too idiotic to read. Scientific theories must have lots of evidence and can't have been disproved to become a theory. Theories that aren't scientific are the kind you're talking about.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If it really had a lot of proof, it wouldn't be just a THEORY.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're stupid. I'm tired of explaining that a scientific theory must have proof to become a theory. If it didn't have evidence, it would be a hypothesis.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Theory.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This is my last comment, because your trolling is causing me immeasurable frustration. A theory in science is an idea that is backed up by proof and has not been disproved. A hypothesis in science is similar to theories that are not scientific. However, evolution is a scientific theory, basically making it fact. If you cannot understand a definition, I cannot help you. Please, go retake biology.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I never took biology. My district didn't allow it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I guess they didn't allow English either if you couldn't read the definition of a theory as many times as I posted it... Okay, that was actually my last comment. If you didn't take biology, then you should really use google to have a basic understanding of what the hell goes on in your body. Also, in reference to your question a few comments back, even if we had evolved from monkeys, we could have evolved through allopatric speciation, sympatric speciation, the founder effect, etc.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, we couldn't have, because in Genesis it specifically says that God created man.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're right. Obviously, the bible is the true word and describes the way everything works. Scientific evidence means nothing in this world.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There is a place for science. It's just not in explaining how we got here.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I just meant that in hypothetical conversations such as this: "I believe in the theory of evolution" "But isn't the world perfect for us? God had to have made it!" "Yes the world is perfect for us but that doesn't argue against my theory because I believe we evolved to fit the world and THAT'S why it's perfect for us."

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The world is perfect for us, but we're not perfect for the world. Look what we've done to it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well gravity is just a theory, but you're pretty well grounded on that concept aren't you? It's disappointing when people are ignorant enough to assume that scientists are high as fucking kites when they make up theories to explain natural phenomenon. A scientific theory has been tested, proven and questioned enough in the scientific community to become nearly universal fact.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Gravity is a law.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm no physicist but I think gravity may be a fact

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Gravity is a law, not a theory.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Obviously you aren't. A fact is an observable, repeatable phenomenon. A law, such as the universal law of gravitation, can be used to describe the trajectory of the object. By using the law I can say that when I drop an apple, it falls toward Earth. A law doesn't explain why. A SCIENTIFIC THEORY, on the other hand, seeks to explain WHY the apple falls to Earth (gravity). A law simply says it happens, a theory explains it. Theories do not become laws. Facts (along with logic) are used to support theories.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It obviously has not been truly proven

by Anonymous 12 years ago

We were not made for the earth. We saw a niche that was open and took advantage. Have you seen the way we have treated this earth? We do nothing benificial for it. Think of it this way, if you take all of the insects out of the earth, it will eventually die. If you take out humans, it will thrive.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's not what I meant. I didn't explain myself correctly so I'll try and rephrase. The theory of evolution is that we evolved to have the world suit us. The Earth wasn't what "evolved." I think humans kind of suck as a species in general.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I get what you mean, but the theory states that we evolved to adapt to the earth. It's recently that humans have been trying to change the world to suit us, and evolution has become obsolete due to healthcare, technology etc. But yes I agree. We do suck on a biological point of view.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because of all the technology humans have defeated evolution and natural selection and control the species and enviroment around us (not well might I add). We think we're making all these advancements but we're making things worse.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

*looks at massive comment war* no Wasn't religion created to bring people closer together? It's tearing us apart instead...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The sole purpose of religion was never to bring people together, it was to control people into behaving well.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Agreed. Sure it might be good for the individual, but as a whole, it fucked people over many, many times. I only said that to not offend the religious people.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I thought it was so that people had a place to look forward to when they die? Or to create a conscience.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lolno. The point of religion is to give answers when there is no where left to turn to. People are turning away from religion more and more because of all the new discoveries today. But 3,000 years ago if you asked why the sky was blue, your only answer would've been God. Things in religion are still applicable today. When you lose a loved one, you need answers to questions like "Why?" and "What will happen to them?" The idea of your loved one sitting next to God on top of clouds is more appealing than thinking they are gone and being eaten by maggots.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Appealing sure, doesn't mean its true.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Agreed, Tank.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If God is real, he has one sick sense of humor.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Those things did not happen "accidentally". They ocurred by chance. There are trillions of planets in the universe and by pure chance the Earth is one of them that's suitable for life. Likewise, natural selection worked on chance mutations in molecules until simple life forms evolved into complex ones. The argument that nature is too beautiful to be an accident is one of the classic arguments against atheism, but it's also an extremely weak argument that falls apart when you put any thought to the issue.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Simon's Theory, THAT'S WHY!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm not bashing your beliefs, but it's also ignorant to think they we were all created perfectly like we are now, by God however long ago it was. It's fact that we evolve to fit our surroundings, it's the most important part of life. And by your logic, it's "accidental" that we have reproductive systems, isn't that the whole reason for species to exist? To reproduce and overcome new enviromental challenges, to evolve our species to make it better? Nothing that has ever happened was accidental, and no scientist will ever say the creation of anything was accidental. Pick up a text book before you start and argument about something you obviously know little about.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The THEORY of evolution? Please.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Oh stop. "Theory" in science is pretty much fact. It's like saying you don't believe in the "Theory" of gravity.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Gravity isn't a theory. And saying it's "pretty much" the same thing doesn't mean anything. Our DNA is pretty much the same as many animals' DNA, but that doesn't mean it's the same.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Everything in science is a theory.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's called Newton's theory of gravity, so technically it is a theory.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, it's Newton's Law of gravity.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Those are the laws gravity abides by. We still don't know for certain what causes gravity.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I know for sure. GOD.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

God is what people use to explain the things they dont uderstand so they can fall asleep at night

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Also booze.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And the THEORY of evolution is what people believe in when they want to be rebellious and edgy when deep down they know it's BS.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

rebellious? most people accept it. there is nothing that DISproves it. it's only a theory because is can't be proven absolutely

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They're being rebellious to the true word of God, is what I meant.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFjoEgYOgRo

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lol, I remember watching all 7 one day when I was bored.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I ragequit after the second one.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"There's no way it was an "accident" that the Earth magically formed" You're right. It wasn't an accident and the Earth wasn't magically formed. It's called "chance."

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, it wasn't magic.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No one said it was.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Has anyone taken the theory that the Greek God Zeus created us so he could have more women to seckz and the men to get the women pregnant and create more people for Zeus to seckz into consideration?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Simon... the real answer is "BECAUSE SHUT THE FUCK UP! THATS WHY!"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Will Zeus reward me if I make more people for him to seckz? Finally something to believe in.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't understand why all the atheists turn into dicks whenever a topic like this comes up... Not to be rude or anything, but I read the whole comment section and seriously you guys...chill the fuck out.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The religious people on here are freaking out too. I live discussions. And for the Internet, I'd say amirite arguments are very civil (there's a difference between arguing and discussing different beliefs though...this is arguing but hey, it's better than the arguments on YouTube!)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Love* oh curse you, tiny iPod buttons!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

While the religious people are freaking out too, if you read through the whole post it tends to be the atheists who just blatantly go about bashing religion. But yeah, compared to YouTube this is rather tame.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ok, I didn't expect everyone to freak out like this. First of all, atheists; calm down! Second; why are all the religious people 'anonymous '? Are u afraid to have an actual account?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So basically. If you ever want to have an intelligent debate about God vs. Science, go learn the other argument first. Also, grow up. Also, I personally don't understand why you think that it has to be just God.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I feel I should post some statistics on the average amount of certain words used in the usual comment wars. fuck/ing/ed: 9. That's surprising, thought there'd be more.. God: 33. No surprise there. Evolution: 29. No surprise there. Religion: 8 Evolve: 26 Bible: 7 Monkey: 15 Stupid: 4 As a result of these statistics, I conclude that SHUT UP.

by Anonymous 12 years ago
