Ok, MORONS, it's "color," not "colour" amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
I don't really see what the point in this is.
Color = US English spelling
Colour = UK English spelling
There is no right or wrong. (And, if there was, it would be colour, considered the English language came from the UK.)

Pst...he's a trolololol.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Oh, I just went onto OP's profile.
Thanks.

Colour = Canadian spelling too!
by Anonymous12 years ago
Colour /ˈkələr/
(Colour) released in 2008, is the third full-length album by British DJ and Electronic dance music composer Andy Hunter°
(Colours) These are the racing silks of the owners, as worn by the jockeys.
(Coloured) Non flat response; peaks or dips.
wut.
by Anonymous12 years ago
both spellings are correct, just as favorite can also be spelled favourite.
by Anonymous13 years ago
theater and theatre too
by Anonymous12 years ago
Doesn't theater refer to the building and theatre refer to the actual plays and whatnot? That's what I was taught in my theatre class.
by Anonymous12 years ago
in your theatre class or theater class?
by Anonymous12 years ago
i looked them up, they are the same
by Anonymous12 years ago
Those are actually two seperate words. "Theater" refers to the buildings, like a movie theater. "Theatre" is the acting, like a theatre club.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Where I'm from there is only "theatre", and it refers to both cinemas and acting clubs.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Dissing British people now are we? Insulting a cultures grammar=not cool.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Not just British, South African too.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Well if we're going to go into specific countries, then it would be all the countries in the commonwealth.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Why? This post is directed at anyone and everyone.
by Anonymous12 years ago

British people spell everything wrong.
by Anonymous12 years ago
But wouldn't color be correct because Americans established the American language?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Yea... the American language...
by Anonymous12 years ago
Must be from Illinois.
by Anonymous12 years ago
so if, for example, an italian were to ask you what language you spoke, would you say American????
by Anonymous12 years ago
At first, I thought that said Mormons. I was wondering why this post was directed at them. Then I reread it and got it.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Beat me to it, jerk.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I voted this down and i spell it color...
by Anonymous12 years ago
There are more people in the world who spell it "colour" than those who spell it "color". You lose.
by Anonymous12 years ago
So, by that logic, everyone who doesn't speak Chinese loses because Mandarin Chinese is most widely spoken.
All hail China.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I think you mean "中国所有的冰雹."
by Anonymous12 years ago
Obviously they're both right, depending on where you are. I meant that if one had to e chosen as correct, "colour" would win by majority.
by Anonymous12 years ago
IT'S OKAY GUYS, WE'LL SETTLE THIS WITH MY OVERLY LARGE PENIS
by Anonymous12 years ago
The thing is, when you're taught to write "colour" , it's incredibly difficult to change. It's like a habit. One is the European spelling, one is the American spelling. There is no right or wrong way.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I use colour, but what really bugs me is that all the autocorrects don't let you use both. Why can't they make it so that you don't get autocorrects or that damn red line underneath your word, just for spelling it in a different, yet equally acceptable, way?
by Anonymous12 years ago
It will let you spell it "colour" and "favourite", etc., without the red line, if you use the British keyboard. Or you can get rid of the red line in settings.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Yes, but seeing as they both acceptable ways to spell it. There really isn't any reason why you can't use all the spellings. Especially if you are in a country that combines the two spellings.
by Anonymous12 years ago
This is why people hate America.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Thanks for embarrassing my nation.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I'm Canadian and we spell it with a "u". Obviously we know who the moron is here and it's not us maple-syrup-loving Eskimos.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I'm pretty sure most other countries spell it colour over color, favourite over favorite, etc.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I'm American, and I write "colour," "favourite," "realise," "aeroplane," "harbour," etc...
