+370 It's really weird that people from largely populated areas refer to distances in how many miles away something is, whereas people from lower-populated places refer to distances in minutes/hours. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Probably because the amount of time it takes to get somewhere in a urban area depends on how heavy traffic is.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah. It was just something that I noticed when I visited relatives in San Diego (I'm from small-town Kansas)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I guess you could even say, you're not in Kansas anymore....

Wow how original of a joke! I've NEVER heard that one before

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh I'm sorry, are you kateFoReal? No? THEN STFU! Besides I never said it was original, it was just a comment

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it was a joke, chill out

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I AM CHILL. Besides, I know it was lame... I just said it, because I rented Inception the other day and I think it had a sex in the city commercial and it said it in there. In addition to watching She's out of my League, where that chick was like, are you a plane doctor? No? Then STFU

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I can tell how chill you are because of your excessive use of caps :) (<----- = a joke btw)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

WHAT IS WITH YOU PEOPLE?!? I AM CALM AS A CUCUMBER!!!

Makes sense. In a smaller town, traffic is probably going to be the same most of the day, and most of the year, so the rough time to get from one place to another is the same. In larger places, traffic changes during the day (particularly in the 5-8AM rush to work, then the 5-8PM rush home) as well as different celebrations/ tourism during the year.

Thanks for the play by play....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

by Anonymous 13 years ago

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm from a big city and I never refer to distances by miles...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The nearest mall is nearly two hours away.

I live in FL where everything is miles away and it's heavily populated but we still go by minutes/hours.
