+301 Just wondering, why is everyday compound but every night isn't, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"Everyday" is only spelled as one word when it means ordinary or pedestrian. You don't say "I go to the mall everyday."

So, if I said, "I go to the mall every day," that would be correct, right?

Yep.

Hooray for correct grammar!

"everyday" and "every day" are two totally different things. "every night" isn't supposed to be compound.

Or "goodnight" and "good morning" ?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It is actually 'good night'. People just type it as one word every so often.
