Death Note Humor: What's faster than the speed of Light? Near. Near was faster than the speed of Light. amirite?

I have never disliked a fictional character as much as I loathed Near.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. When L was still alive I didn't know who to side with, him or Light. But once Near showed up, I wanted Light to win.

Near had nothing to do with it going down hill. That happened when L died. So sad! =(

Yeah but he came in right after L died so it seems like it's his fault. And it was sad when L died...poor him.

At first, I like L - then he died. Then, I liked Mello - then he died. Then, I was like "whatever" and liked Light - then his inevitable death came. I also liked Misa - she killed herself. And Mikami - he stabbed himself with a pen. I never liked Near. And he LIVED. :/

EXACTLY. I never really DISliked Near, but what does he ever do except in effect get Mello killed and screw over Light, who was my second favorite. Also they say he didn't like L. Really? He's an odd little bugger.

near was too douchy, he took all of Ls negative qualities and was just a complete downer. teru mikami and light were my fav characters

I have to agree with most everyone here... Near was tool... Then again I was crushed when L died and wouldn't of liked any successor...

There's a manga an an anime called Death Note. There's the mass murderer, Light, and the detective, Near. Near was able to connect Light to all the murders, yadda yadda yadda, Near was faster than Light.

Besides, Near cheats! As much as I dissaprove of L dying in the first place it did need to happen. So then he gets one decent sucessor in Mello, and then near let's him die and takes everything Mello accomplished as his own?? And he only get evidence on Light because if Mikamis screw up, which is hardly fair.
