In the story, the sea witch cuts off the little mermaid's tongue. I think it's implied that she can't make a sound though.

Since watching that episode I have always pictured those guys whenever I heard the word "Gentleman" It pretty strongly redefines that Fall Out Boy song.

Your adams apple doesnt vibrate when you whisper, but it does when youre talking. Im pretty sure whispering is just air passing through the different formations in your mouth and whatever you make with your lips and tounge. But after i looked it up using my primary source of research (google search bar) i found that it strains your vocal chords so that they stay still or something. So apparently you actually do need your vocal chords to whisper
