It's really great to see that people care so much about God even through difficult times, amirite?

I sure as fuck hope youre trolling...

Nope. It's depressing that people don't abandon their primitive beliefs to attempt to better their lives and instead relieve themselves of all their responsibility by placing their lives in the hands of imaginary creatures conjured up by the minds of humans thousands of years ago, before recent advancements in science and technology. And when their loved ones survive their illnesses, it's despicable how people thank their God rather than the doctors that have dedicated their lives to making the actual treatment possible.
And it's remarkably arrogant to praise such irrationality.

This comment eliminates the need for me to comment because I don't think I can improve on it.

Really? I think you're the arrogant one. While I'm not religious myself, this is just a disrespectful comment. I'm sure you don't want someone coming to you, shoving religion down your throat, but it's ok for you to just full out bash someone's beliefs? Grow up a bit and learn some respect. I hate close-minded atheists just as much as I hate a close-minded religious person.
I will admit, however, that a person should thank their doctor before thanking god.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Is my comment disrespectful? Perhaps. Does that decrease its validity? No.
I'd hardly consider myself close-minded because I'm not open to questioning the existence of a supernatural force with unlimited power who defies all earthly science and somehow interferes with his creations' lives based solely on a book. Especially considering thousands of similar books claiming variations of this concept have been being introduced to public for millenia, the majority of which have already died out. That's like calling me close-minded for not considering the existence of fairies based on all the evidence contained within Peter Pan.

It's all about respecting someone's beliefs. You think the existence of a god is "irrational"? Good for you. That's your belief and I respect that. But to call it fairy shit or primitive is just close-minded and offensive. You ARE being close-minded. Towards something that has absolutely zero solid (key word: solid) evidence for or against it, to say that it is absolutely impossible is close-minded. Again, learn some respect. You're mixing up your opinions for facts.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I'm not arguing against the fact that I'm not being respectful. I completely realize I'm insulting religion, but in my mind religion does not deserve respect.
There is no evidence for or against fairies, either. So, if I'm being close-minded, so is everyone that doesn't consider the possibility that fairies exist. And I actually do believe that the concept of God is possible; everyone is an agnostic on some level, whether they admit it or not. However, I'd consider the probability God exists far below the possibility of creatures everyone admits is mythological and ridiculous, such as fairies.
And no, I'm not mixing up my opinions and facts. I haven't claimed a single one of my opinions are facts, and your argument is therefore completely invalid and worthless.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Bottom line is that it is immature to bash someone's beliefs. My /opinion/ is that you have a little growing up to do if you are going around in this close-minded manner. But hey, I'm not here to change you. Just challenging something I think was in bad taste.
Anyway, my argument is supposedly worthless, so I'll stop here (I read you always like to have the last word. You can have it my man.)
by Anonymous12 years ago
As long as your respectful to those that believe in fairies, that's fine. Otherwise, you're being hypocritical.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Everything was good until your last sentence.
by Anonymous12 years ago
thanking a doctor before thanking god?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Yes.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Whelp that's just my opinion :P Though not to say that a person shouldn't thank god at all.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I know, I just disagreed with that last point you made. The others were pretty good, however.
by Anonymous12 years ago
God is my doctor though ha. He healed me when the doctors in the hospital could do nothing. I think he deserves thanks at all times.
by Anonymous12 years ago
It's only admirable if it's something that helps them through said hard times. If you were suicidal and found God and realized life is worth living, hey, that's great as long as you're happy. But if you think your sick child will be cured through the mere grace if God and not modern medicine that is easily accessible to you, in my eyes you are a truly a despicable person.

Why the hell is this in the music category?

Putting posts in the wrong group has become a slight form of trolling on this site. You get used to it.
