+200 You hate some of the ridiculous rules they put into place during exams; "You are not permitted to leave your seat until all exam papers have been collected." What do they think we're going to do, set fire to the other papers? Or, "You may only leave your seat during the case of an emergency" would require you to tell your male teacher you're in desperate need of a tampon, amirite?

The first rule is set in place because of cheating. With technology, it is easy to text your friends answers, inform of them of an essay question, or whatever. And, I don't really follow your complaint about the second rule. It is also set in place because of cheating and creating a disturbance.

er not really! the first rule is usually implemented after people have finished the exam, what use would cheating be then?

I agree. I used to hate these dumb rules too. Then I became a TA, and I realized that while I'm not a cheater (and thus didn't see the point of these rules), a lot of people are. It's kind of like rule 34: if it exists, they will try to use it to cheat (including asking the TA for the answers!). Some teachers are just not good at catching people cheating, and this is the only thing they can do to try and prevent it.

That's idiotic. There is a good reason behind each and every rule, and it doesn't take much time at all to figure out what it is. Students are not to be walking around the classroom while others are taking the test. This is simple enough: what good would sitting far apart/with dividers be, if you could just get up and walk to any desk you like? Students are not to be walking around the classroom unless an emergency is to occur. This is even simpler! It's but a necessary exception to that first rule you said.
