+354 What does a singer do if he or she needs to sneeze or yawn or something in the middle of a live performance, amirite?

Stop, sneeze, sing? I don't think they'd be yawning, the performance rush is hardly a bore. :P

The hormones that make you nervous during a performance tend to turn off bodily functions like yawning and sneezing, at least in my experience. I've never coughed, sneezed, yawned, had a nosebleed, or anything during a performance. I do sweat more, though.

Also, I heard singers/actor don't eat heavy foods the day before the performance, to reduce the risk of bloating or vomiting.

I agree, even though I don't know the scientific name for this, I'm always scared that I will cough or sneeze during a performance but it just hasn't (thankfully) happened ever.

Saying "cucumber" when you feel like you have to sneeze makes that feeling go away.

(Anonymous):I just had a mental picture of a singer pausing in the middle of a concert and saying cucumber. I giggled.

On stage we're just told "hold it." In fact, once at notes the biggest note for our show was "Alex, don't sneeze!"
