You would cry harder if in a movie a dog dies than if the protagonist dies, amirite?

In Zombieland, it made me sadder when I thought Buck was Tallahassee's dog. > u>;

It has something to do with the fact that animals (typically domesticated animals, but some wild animals as well) imbody innocence, whereas humans do not. I read something that talked about this a while ago, but I don't remember the details.

what if the protaganist is a dog?

then it would be sad when it's owner dies and the dog is all alone

What if the the dog kills the protagonist and then explodes?

Then the movie would be over, and you'd either have to sit through the credits or just go home, anticipating the sequel.

I admire the sentiment, but it works a lot better if you just report it and give the links

I did report it. But this way, more people learn to not repost.
