If someone I don't know is being extremely nice I always think there's some kind of catch or something lol

@ OP: Awww, you look so lost, here let me drive you home in my unmarked van and have some candy too for the ride.

Gee, thanks!

I sense this post has a story behind it, are we going to hear about it? (Or perhaps it's just a random observation you've always had and never-you-mind). But in all seriousness, no, come into my van. I have puppies and Oompa-Loompas. I don't think Oinky-poo can beat that.

Nah, no stories, just observation. Into the van I go!

Can we hear a story anyway? *everyone gathers 'round Rocky, sitting in a semi-circle in their PJs, they look on with excitement*

Okay... One day, I was walking down the street, on my way to work. It was a sunny day so I whistled, there was a happy stride in my step because I had gotten a good night's sleep and had a wonderful breakfast of french toast and an omelette. One thing I was not looking forward to was a lecture that seemed imminent after the memo I received from my boss the night before, but I pushed that out of mind for now. The streets were crowded with people who seemed depressed, but I didn't let them dampen my mood. I was wearing a nice long jacket that I'd received as a gift a few weeks ago, and underneath were my dressy work clothes--slacks, a white shirt and tie. Suddenly I was overwhelmed with the city sounds. The din of the crowd seemed to be swelling. So I pulled out my iPod and put on my headphones. Then I started listening to "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles. It was going to be a good day. But then I felt something go wrong. My wallet suddenly fell out (continued)

of my pocket and into the road. At first I felt shocked, then I freaked out and rushed into the side of the road to see where it had gone. Bending near the curb, I saw that it landed near the storm drain. It was very close to falling in. Scared but relieved, I leaned over to pick it up...and at that exact moment a passing car clipped me barely, but hard enough to make me stumble. And my foot knocked my wallet into the storm drain! Now I really panicked. I yanked my headphones out of my ears and The Beatles cut off. I could feel a lot of strangers staring at me, wondering what on Earth this random guy was doing freaking out, peering into a storm drain, but I didn't care. I looked into the thing, trying to spot my wallet somewhere. It was nowhere to be seen. A million thoughts went through my mind in a split second. So many important things were in that wallet, money aside. My social security card, credit cards, and other personal information. Not to mention (continued)

*looks on diligently and wonders if he, himself, can continue the story*

the wallet itself was like a $60 gift. And this might make me late to work, and I did NOT want that. I HAD to get it back somehow. But instead of bursting into action, I just stood there stupidly for another minute, staring into the darkness. [Someone continue it lol]

Tick-tock-tick-tock. Time was wearing out its welcome. "There's just nothing I can do about it at this point. Why worry about something you can't control," I thought to myself. "Just go to work and deal with the problems that come with a lost wallet then. We'll cross that bridge once we come to it, as they say." Of course I didn't let my rational part of the mind do the moving. In a fit of rage I paced in circles around the nearby sidewalk. Basically everyone stared for about ten steps -- until they blended into the rest of the 9-5 crowd. I jumped back onto the street. As I bent down, a car came to a screeching halt to my left. A woman with auburn hair assertively got out of the car and stood face-to-face with me. "Is your name Rocky? I've been searching a long time for you," she said. I stood there, silent.

Nice story xD I'd continue but I have no imagination or creativity whatsoever

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Continue it, I purposly left it open for the next writer. You don't need to maintain the same style or genre -- you don't need to even be good, it's about the beauty behind a bunch of random people from different countries coming together to create art.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Incedio, continue it! It's at such a moment of suspense!

by Anonymous 14 years ago

And I think we're all dying to know who and why that auburn-haired woman knows the main character.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Yeah definitely.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I wanna know! Moar Moar!
