Because they want to use swear words? Words are just words, people should use them how they like. That's like telling someone what to wear, or what music to listen too.

Because really awesome, or very awesome or truly awesome just don't convey the same message as fucking awesome. Swear words used for emphasis are there to be of greater magnitude than other words by virtue of the fact that they are swear words. You can't say massive means more than fucking huge because although massive usually means 'very huge', adding a fucking shows that it's so big that you can't use a kid-friendly vocabulary to convey the message properly.

Words only have as much meaning as we give them. Society has decided that certain arbitrary words have a taboo quality attached to them. At least with Quebec French swear words they're actually bad because they're mocking the Church.

Honestly, the first thing I think when someone starts cussing is, "Really? That's all that school did for you? That's the best vocabulary you can come up with?" It just makes you look incredibly incompetent, even if you aren't. I KNOW swear words, but that doesn't mean that I have to go around using them, especially if it's just in conversation. It makes sense if you hurt yourself or something, but not when you're just supplying random cuss words as adjectives because you can't think of anything else to say.

That's assuming a person using cursewords has an equivalent vocabulary to someone who doesn't. That's entirely false. I swear vehemently and I don't have the largest vocabulary compared to some of my wordier friends. Don't use bullshit (ha) logic on a site that's entirely about discussing opinions rationally.
