+150 The quality of new TV shows in general have really gone down hill. A new good TV show is like a one in a million sort of thing now. amirite?

And I feel like all the good shows keep getting cancelled after one season, like The Event, Terra Nova, Alcatraz, and Jane by Design.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

And Arrested Development sure didn't get enough time to shine either.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah Firefly was a great show, but wasn't exactly canceled recently

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well terra nova wasn't terrible, but it definitely didn't live up to its potential. At least in my opinion

Terra Nova was kinda like my family's "rebound" show from when The Event was cancelled, but now that Terra Nova got cancelled, we're gonna watch that new Revolution show.

I don't know if the quality has gone down. There may be a lot of shows that aren't particularly funny or entertaining, but many shows have movie-quality effects and budgets.

Game of Thrones = perfection.

It's probably going to last at least 12 seasons if they continue with what they're doing for the next book; dividing the book into two parts. Who knows? They might do 3 seasons for a book that is extremely long.

Once upon a time. The legend of Korra. Gravity falls. All fabulous shows.

I liked Men at Work.

It's always been like that, it's just that society doesn't remember the bad ones. Do you know how many crappy TV show s had to be invented before friends or whatever show you like came along?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think we're in a generation of really crappy sitcoms, but otherwise there are tons out there with amazing plots like Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Sherlock, Legend of Korra... and I have plenty more that I've been meaning to watch, but just don't have the time to.

How new are we talking here? From the last 7 years - Supernatural, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Grey's, True Blood, Merlin, The Borgias, The OC, Jericho, Heroes, Lost, Grimm (although I've only seen the first episode so far), Dexter, Californication. Some of the newer cop shows maybe, like Hawaii Five-O (I don't really watch it though), or a bit older like Criminal Minds. For comedies - Two and a Half Men & The Big Bang Theory. There are a lot of crappy shows but there certainly isn't much of a shortage of good shows.

Adventure Time, Big Bang Theory, Game of Thrones, Community (probably the best comedy on tv in years), Dexter, Breaking Bad, Battle Star Galactica, Workaholics and Wilfred.
