+1,807 Parents using "I'll turn this car around" as a threat to their rowdy kids doesn't really work when they're on the way home from Disneyland, amirite?

It better work, or I will turn this car around!

Unless, of course, if the parents are threatening the kids that they'll be sold to Disneyland, where they'll be forced to sing in the "It's a Small World After All" ride. That's right: those kids singing in that ride are real!

For them affirmative action is necessary. They need enough Inuits for the ide darn it.

This actually happened to my family the first time we went to Dineyworld (yes, Disneyworld, they're basically the same thing)

Disneyland, Disney World. Disney World is two words. It's not common knowledge, so don't beat yourself up about it.

(Not the OP): Dang, I was there last fall, I shoul've known that... Oh well, life goes on.

Maybe, but on the way back from Disneyland I'm usually too tired to do anything but sleep, let alone get rowdy.

Never actually seen a parent say this in real life, but whenever I see in on telly or read about it, I remember that episode of the Simpsons, where Bart and his mates rent a car, and they drive along side a stressed-out dad who yells that to his kids, and Nelson leans out the window and slaps him, so the dad turns the car around.

It's an empty threat.

When we were kids the threat was alway a public spanking. "Cut it out right now or I will pull this car over and beat you in front of everyone! Do you want that?! Do you want to be beaten in front of people?!" My siblings and I chose civility over the shame of being spanked in front of strangers.
