The hell is that supposed to mean? Things aren't by themselves light and dark, they just have light shining on them or they don't. Where would the source of light be in your body?

Whoa, calm down. That's exactly what they're saying. There really IS no source of light internally, which is not really something we think about. So it's like pitch black in there man.

Calm down from my absolutely calm state? Saying "hell" once and asking a couple rhetorical questions is in no way anger. I just think it's pointless to point this out. Everything is pitch-black, by that logic. Man-made lightbulbs are put in buildings on purpose so things aren't dark anymore so things are easy to see. Any body part you look at, in practice, will always be shone upon by light, so the body is only dark when it's covered by its own opaque walls with everything intact. A pen inside a closed box is dark. Big woop.
