+405 There should be a current events class in school. It would be interesting and help people learn more about other countries, amirite?

I wrote this with Libya in mind. We haven't really discussed this in my Geography class, almost everything I know about it has been personal research. I'm also sure there's a lot going on in almost every country and would much rather learn about it than what each regions HDI is.

I think Britain needs to stay out of Libya, we have enough problems without having to add yet another one to the list,

There is a current events class at my school...

Lucky! I really want on :( Stupid underfunded schools.

So does mine. Unfortunately, it's basically track 3 students' excuse to have an honors class.

My school does have a current events class. Just saying.

I took World Issues in high school... Essentially the same as it was all current.

I don't know how many people know what this is, but my school puts huge focus on our MUN class. It's a debate class where all students work as a "Model United Nations". We go to conferences to do simulation debates, and since there is no solid class curriculum, our teacher focuses on current events

My school has a mandatory grade 12 class called PIWA - Public and International World Affairs. So basically current events. I'm super psyched to take it!

We have Contemporary World. It's interesting but the teacher is a bitch. We learn about whats happening in Libya, Iraq and all that. Also, we have to do this big project for refugees of other countries. For example my team is doing a book drive for Haiti and a money drive. It's a cool class.

Or, you know, read the goddamn news. Nobody is preventing you from doing so.

Our school does a current events class senior year, but it's only half a semester. It's a required part of the curriculum too. :)

I'm taking Contemporary World Affairs next year. And the teacher won the best teacher of the state award. I'm so psyched!!! :D

I'm taking that class next year. It's my slacker class since I'm taking it along with AP Gov. Go GPA boosters!

We discuss Current Events every day at the beginning of class :)

We have a class called Contemporary Issues and we discuss topics ranging from the earthquakes in Japan, cyber bullying, torturing, the war, suicide, and otherr prominent figures. It's an awesome class!
