Watching the best movie you will ever watch in your life > Reading a book.

With everything that's on tv now that's a given

It annoys me that people, especially on here, pretend to be hardcore bibliophiles because there's some consensus that that makes them super intellectual. Books really aren't //that// amazing. Yeah, books are good, reading books is a fun thing to do, but it isn't the best thing in the universe, and I'd bet if people had the choice to either never read a book again or never watch a TV show or movie again they'd give up books in a heartbeat, and I also bet that I get at least one reply saying "Actually, unlike everyone else, I like books so much more because I am totally a nerd lol"

Actually, unlike everyone else, I like books so much more because I am totally a nerd lol troll I like being active rather than read books or watch TV but the post only gives two options: reading the best book you'll ever read and what's on TV, not the best show on TV. I'd probably choose the book.

Sure, but the best show on TV //is// on TV. Honestly if this had said the best book against the best show it'd be harder to vote, but it just says TV, that being all TV, and between all of the good things TV has, not counting the bad things because I can choose not to watch those, TV is fucking incredible.

I love books way more than TV, because they last so much longer. Very rarely have I watched a show that stuck in my head for years, but most books seem to have that effect on me. Also getting to imagine how everything looks in my head is so much more fun. I still watch TV a lot when I'm at my parent's house or something (I can't afford it for myself), but I read a heck of a lot more.

Well, according to his profile, he's a librarian, so it might just be justified.

Yeah, it isn't any individual person I aimed that comment at, it's the score of this post.

Firefly. Now fuck off.

My friend and I have a pact. If one us dies were gonna stage it to look like a suicide to protest the unjust cancellation of fireflies. Were gonna get that show back on the air.

You wouldn't even have to die, you could just transport someone's super-organs in stasis. XD
