+419 Band-Aids are a brand of adhesive strips, and yet we all call every brand of adhesive strips Band-Aids. It would just be weird if someone said, "Oh man, I got a papercut! I need an adhesive strip!", amirite?

I'm sure people would be more likely to say "bandage" than "adhesive strip". And I've never heard anyone say "plaster". Where are you from?
