It's even more awkward when you come out of the stall and none of the girls putting on make-up will remove their books from inside the sinks, so you have to awkwardly leave the restroom and go find a sink you can use to wash your hands, all the time knowing that later they'll be telling their friends "There was this girl this morning..."

After you get off a plane then it's not as awkward because all the girls are putting makeup on since long flights do not make you attractive at all.

It's bad manners to put your makeup on in public, in my opinion. Like, touching up is okay, but not doing your whole routine.
