-208 Now that we have discovered color, the newspaper should be in FULL COLOR, not JUST black and white, amirite?

Discovered color? I had no idea that had happened yet. ono

Yeah, my grandparents told me all about it. The world used to be in black and white, then BOOM, one glorious day colour was invented. But on a more serious note, in case you weren't trolling OP, colour pages cost a hell of a lot more than black and white ink - it's not worth all the extra cost just to make the paper look a fraction better.

My local newspaper is in colour and black and white. It's the cheap newpapery kind of colour though. Imagine how expensive they'd be if they were printed on magazine-paper.

Plus it's just tradition and looks formal and old-fashioned.

And pay for that? I don't think so.

Part of the reason that newspapers aren't glossy and colourful is because all media has its own unique esthetic form and since newspapers are supposed to disclose facts and the truth, they are black and white.

1. Color wasn't discovered, it has always been here 2. Coloring newspapers would cost way too much extra money 3. Newspapers are for catching up on current events, not looking at pretty colors

2 and 3 true but color was discovered. It was discovered by the first animal that lived that could use their eyes. Pretty much everything that's discovered has "always been here".

...Do you know how expensive that would be?!

Apparently until a certain point color was nonexistant. Also, the production and sale of newpapers would be more expensive. We're not missing out on anything to have them in black and white.
