+2,045 I've just come up with the perfect name for the awkward shuffle where you and the person walking towards you don't know which way to go around each other: walkward, amirite?

Actually, it's called a polkadodge. But walkward works, too.

Wow this is Walkward...

In no way shape or form is this Patrick, by the way...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I did that today with someone, except this one lasted about three dodges more than the average polkadodge...it was walkward.

sidewalk dancing!!

I like 'avoidancing', but that works too.

I'll be sure to add that to my list.

It is written in the holy amirite bible that for everyday you haven't masturbated, you should eat french toast to atone for these sins and make your soul pure again.

Back in my day, if you made up words like walkward... then we'd say you did a hell of a job

Dude...you're a legend. I could totally see all the new comedy movies containing the word walkward.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That happened to me today!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

my friends and i call it a steplock

by Anonymous 13 years ago

your friends and you are incredibly retarded. just kidding, i love you guys.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There actually is a word for it that's not polkadodge (not saying polkadodge is wrong) but I can't remember it for the life of me. Anyway, walkward sounds like it would be a word to DESCRIBE a polkadodge, not a word that means polkadodge.

This could also be used to describe those awkward moments when you are walking in a long hallway and someone is walking towards you. Mainly this is when it is someone you don't know, but if it's someone you semi-know it can be even awkwarder. "Do I wave now? No.. now. No! Okay right now"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Or when you say goodbye to someone, but then walk in the same direction.

I really wish i wouldn't have used anonymous to submit this

I spent so long reading the comments I forgot what the post was.

It'd be so cool if this word becomes popular and widely used then I can say I was here in the making of it. It's already becoming popular check urban dictionary and Google realtime results...

Yes.. "thedude" was a hipster

by Anonymous 13 years ago

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I always thought "the awkward shuffle" was sufficient.
