if a band is good enough then they will never produce bad music, if you like them enough they will never be bad. imagine if JK rowling (sorry non potter people) stopped at harry potter 1 just so no mistake could be made with the later books. imagine if bethesda stopped at oblivion (or even worse- morrowind). that would suck. everything great has been made because someone didnt just give up or retire, or else the billboards would be filled with a bunch of one hit wonders and you would have to listen to the radio to find a band you like... for them to only put out one album.

I'd rather have one of my favourite bands experiment with new sounds and create something I don't like than not create anything new at all. And it's not like their new music would void their old music, you know?
