Like someone said, it's because of what we eat now. We eat A LOT more sugar and of course a lot more processed food than them. They probably did get acne, but the acne we get today is from chemical stress in our body more than anything.

It must have sucked until like the last 30 years to have acne cuz you couldn't do anything about it

Doubtful. The only reason our skin gets greasy is because we wash it ourselves so often. If we didn't do so we would naturally produce a balanced amount of oils and wouldn't get greasy.

I think they probably did,but its not that hard to just not paint pimples when they get portraits done.
