+165 It's sad that in history, religion was a huge part of people's lives. They were persecuted for it and based governments off of it. Then there was the era of revolutions. And then, bettering our countries through technology. But now, all we can focus on is paying celebrities millions of dollars and then watching them fall to drugs and alcohol. amirite?

i quite happy with the government not based on religion

Except some countries are still like that, even America. I bet my left boob that we would never vote in a president that wasn't religious. Because of course you need religion to have "morals" >_<

Okay, but think about how many advances in medicine we've had, only just recently. We've made a vaccine that can prevent cancer. Technology has also greatly improoved in the last couple of years. Imagine someone in the 1940s with a kindle, iPad, or iPhone. And all of this is just the beginning. I'd say we've done a hell of a lot more than just pay celebrities millions of dollars. Also, they wouldn't be payed that much if they didn't have a huge fanbase; it's our fault as much as it is theirs. Also, plenty of not rich people are drink and do drugs.

Also, these things happened over many years. It's twelve years into the new decade, so you might want to give it some time.

Its better than people rising and taking over by having mass genocides. Even though we are a technolody based world it brings us closer and makes us more aware of the rest of the planet
