+123 No matter what, "prolly" is NOT a proper abbreviation for probably. amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Absolutist much?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It is on the internet.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Prolly sounds retarded.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Eh, I use "prob" if I have to abbreviate probably in a sentence. Seems more proper I guess.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You're prolly right.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I probs should keep that in mind.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

it's kinda like saying //kinda// instead of //kind of// or //wanna// instead of //want to//

by Anonymous 11 years ago

If I have to abbreviate (say, to fit in a tweet or to keep a text in 1 part) I either use //probly// or //probs//. Seems okay.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think that it's fine as long as people know when to use it and that we differentiate between formal and informal situations we don't //wanna// accidentally type //prolly// for a paper we're writing //wanna// doesn't even get a a squiggly red line under it

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah, and if I can avoid writing it that way, I will. It's just convenient. On the topic of //wanna// and //kinda//, I use those all the time, because I more often than not, say them instead of //want to// or //kind of//

I only say "prolly" intentionally, if I need the word to contribute to the tone I'm aiming for. Otherwise, I avoid abbreviating those sorts of words altogether.
