+510 Blowing off your best friend for your boyfriend is never really acceptable. Boys come and go, but a best friend will stand by you through it all. Never take that for granted, amirite?

Well, it depends. If you've already made plans with either one, you can't really blow them off for the other.

Well, I guess that at one point, there will be one that won't go It will be either your husband or a stalker

I read this wrong at first haha

My girlfriend is my best friend.

I think in the best romantic relationships the couple are best friends :) It's really the only way a relationship works.

Friends come and go but family will forever stay.

I'd say whoever you had plans with first would be the person you should hang out with that day. And as people above me have been saying, friends come and go just as much as significant others. Who are you to say that a person's connection to their boyfriend or girlfriend isn't equal or stronger than their connection to their best friend?

The post was more tailored to MY situation. I always make plans with my best friend, and she'll blow me off last minute to hang out with a guy she's been dating for two weeks. I'm pretty sure our relationship of 8 years is not at all equal to theirs of two weeks.

maybe she's trying to build up her relationship with her boyfriend of two weeks? don't bitch about it! give your friend some freedom, for gods sake. hang out with someone else? you hopefully have more than one friend. and she doesn't 'always' blow you off for him, she's only been with him for two weeks! she's in luwww.

Nah, it's more than that. I didn't ask for advice.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Fair enough, in that situation I'd have to say that you're friend's in the wrong.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

We're working it out. I understand what it's like to want to spend time with your guy, but have to manage your friendships at the same time. Its tough. I'm not willing to throw away our 8 long years if bestfriendness, and I know she's not either. So I trust it'll be okay :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If you're ALWAYS making plans, she probably needs some time with someone else.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No that's not what I meant.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This is such a dumb cliche....

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Dumb? I don't see dumb. I see true.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Isn't it cliche for a reason though?

What better way to prove you're someone's best friend, than to let them blow you off for their boyfriend, and still be there when they need you? But really, I've always thought this to be a jealous way of thinking. More often than not, both friends will end up blowing each other off for a guy (....... that sounded dirty)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Maybe the reason guys come and go is because you pay attention to your friends more than the guys you date
