You're not racist but inter-racial couples kinda weird you out, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
No, I'm not racist, and there is nothing about inter-racial couples that weird me out. If it weirds you out, then you're at least a little bit racist.
by Anonymous13 years ago
it's one thing to think mixed couples shouldn't be together and another thing entirely to acknowledge that it is unusual
by Anonymous13 years ago
How is it unusual? Also, unusual and weird are not the same thing. Weird has a negative connotation.
by Anonymous13 years ago
"The study found that in 2008 a record 14.6% of all new marriages in the United States in 2008 were between spouses of a different race or ethnicity from one another."
by Anonymous13 years ago
That's actually still a lot of people... I don't find it unusual at all. I really don't find it weird.
by Anonymous13 years ago
if you are offended by the word weird then you my friend should stay home and play pacman or something
by Anonymous13 years ago
I'm not offended by the word, but it does have a negative connotation.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Oh how I want to quote that Avenue Q song.
by Anonymous13 years ago
"Everyone's a little bit racist sometimes"
I couldn't resist
by Anonymous13 years ago
I don't find it weird in anyway. Does really matter what colour someone is anyway anymore? Not in my life anyway.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Wow, thanks. Did you know that you're probably not completely white or Asian or whatever race you are either? One of your ancestors was probably in an inter-racial relationship.
by Anonymous13 years ago
(different anonymous): How far back are we talking? Tens of thousands of years ago? Thousands? Definitely not hundreds. With no transportation I highly doubt some races would be mixed together. Some could, but others like African and Native American would just be impossible
by Anonymous13 years ago
My ancestors were African and Native American.
by Anonymous12 years ago
How far back? Anyway he was talking about white people who think they are pure white, asians who are pure asian, or blacks who are pure black. If you know that your African and Native American its different, because you would be able to tell.
I think they were saying that you wouldn't be able to tell if you are pure white, because thousands of years ago your ancestors would have had interacial couples
by Anonymous12 years ago
No, no, no. You've got it all wrong. I AM racist. Get your facts straight.
by Anonymous13 years ago
It's funny how people get offended by this.
by Anonymous13 years ago
And when they have kids...... Eww.
by Anonymous13 years ago
yes, i am weirded out by my parents because they dont have the same color skin
by Anonymous13 years ago
I'm an Asian with a crush on a Puerto Rican girl. Not too weird, in my opinion...
by Anonymous13 years ago
Asian-hispanic couples WOOT! *high fives*

by Anonymous13 years ago
I'm in an interracial relationship and the cultural differences make for some funny confusions.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Very true. I am as well. My boyfriend and I now count how many weird stares we get each day. He's East Indian, I'm white, and us dating goes against a lot his family stands for.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I love interracial couples. They're so cute <3
by Anonymous13 years ago
I'm Hispanic. My girlfriend is white.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I'm a white girl dating a Hispanic boy. Does your family speak Spanish at home? My boyfriends does, and he always laughs when I try to understand / speak it.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Haha, my girlfriend is majoring in Spanish so i guess that makes things easier. She understands everything my parents say to her.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yeah, I failed out of Spanish in middle school. Guess that makes a big difference :P
by Anonymous13 years ago
Not really. It's nice, but it's not necessary. Good luck with your relationship :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
This makes me wonder where you live, because I know a bunch of interracial couples. It's quite common.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Pro-tip: If you have to start a sentence by saying "I'm not racist BUT..." then it's going to be racist.
by Anonymous13 years ago
From where I am, interracial couples arent too common. I remember seeing a white guy with his black girlfriend in a restaurant, and I freaked out a bit. Interracial couples are the cutest thing.
by Anonymous13 years ago
its not a bad thing at all. I'm a white girl in love with a native american guy i've known since we were younger kids.
by Anonymous13 years ago
My high school boyfriend was native and I'm white. Nobody thought it was weird, there were so many couples like that at my school.
by Anonymous12 years ago
im black and im dating a ginger, hahaa you cant believe how much people stare at us
by Anonymous13 years ago
Cus gingers have no souls
by Anonymous13 years ago
People tend to go for their own races, however, some inter-racial couples just make sense!
by Anonymous13 years ago
No way, I think I've had more crushes/relationships with different races than with my own (I'm white). Probably about 60-70 percent I think.
by Anonymous13 years ago
It depends on what sort of environment someone is raised in. If they live in a more racially diverse area, they wouldn't think it's unusual. If you live in a less populated area, it's unlikely there is very much racial diversity and it would seem weird to see an interracial couple. Even if you think it's unusual, you might be subconsciously a little racist, but it's not necessarily a bad thing.
by Anonymous13 years ago
My boyfriend is Korean, I'm American, all our friends say we're a cute couple. So no.
by Anonymous13 years ago
i think it's the cutest thing ever. why does it matter?
