+458 You miss the old days in kindergarten where the only competition was who knew the biggest word or who read the biggest book. Now its all who is the most popular or who has better clothes. amirite?

Magnet schools: Where no one cares about clothes (as long as they aren't crazy weird in a bad way), but anyone who knows a word longer than antidisestablishmentarianism is cool and you have to justify why you're reading a book that's less than 300 pages to your friends.

antidisestablishmentarianism isn't really that "big" of a word.

I guess longer, then. I'd say a word with 28 letters is pretty long.

what's a magnet school?

Advanced school with nerds is the best way I can explain it. For my school, you have to write a letter, send in grades and test scores, get teacher recommendations, and take an entrance exam. So my school is full of nerds who care about nerdy things and not clothes.

sounds awesome, is it like a high school? because you said you had to get teacher recommendations and entrance exams?

Sorry, I meant to get in. My train of thought apparently stopped in mid-sentence. Yup, it's a high school, we have sports (my school was originally a different school, but then we split from them so we're two separate schools in the same building who share UIL related things so we don't fail horribly at all sports) and regular classes, we just also have super advanced core classes and a ton of electives.

.__. that sounds strange LOL must be lots of gangs from each side of the school. but what is this magnet school that I have never heard of You make me feel like it's a secret society where you are learning WAY more stuff than us : /

Probably not, it's just we have a lot of homework and our classes go at a pretty fast pace. Magnet schools specialize in a certain area, generally. My school is a magnet school for liberal arts and science, so we have a ton of science electives and a ton of AP science classes (and this really sweet class that's not offered anywhere else in the nation where you build a little machine to complete a task and most people don't succeed), but we also have a lot of electives for the other core classes so you have the opportunity to take a more specific class. So we have classes like astronomy and sociology and medical microbiology. I live in a big city, so we have a couple magnet schools; one fine arts school, and one academic school.

Got you beat with FLOCCINAUCINIHILIPILIFICATION, with 29 letters.

More like who had the best Pokemon deck, the better Crazy bones, and who was best at kickball.

No. Stfu.

My kindergarten must not have been advanced as yours. We competed for having the coolest crayons or blanket for rest time. When it got really wild we argued over who knew more about Spongebob or Arthur.

These posts again? Didn't we stop this on MLIA?

You miss the old days when no one made comments about the old days.
