Truth exists only for those who believe in it, amirite?

Absurd. Truth is, by definition, objective.

does this imply that there is no real truth?
does this imply that anything can be truth?

Well, I think what he means is that if you believe it with ll your heart, it is truth to you. Even if it turns out that you are completely wrong, being convinced of something can change everything

I believe there are 2 types of truth, being absolute truth and relative truth. Absolute truth is, to no one's surprise, truth that is, well, absolute, or true in any situation; the objective truth that rococo previously mentioned. Relative truth, however, is truth that fits one person's ideals and beliefs. It is how they understand certain situations or concepts (life, for instance) that are, themselves, subjective to people's understanding and perspective.

This spuds like relativism, which is absurd.

Well...sorta. Look up Plato's Allegory of the Cave...see what you think after that. The whole idea of two truths: truth as shadows on the wall, and truth as the idea world.

Is this a truth?
by Anonymous12 years ago
This sounds like jargon trying to pass off as profound

This post boils down to "There is no truth". That is a statement that claims to be truth. This is known by most reasonable people as absurdity...
