+515 If you have an abstract idea and tell it to people, they'll say your strange. But write a book about it, and it's amazing, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nah, it's still something kind of strange.

but the New Yourk Times will say it's genius, and then you're rich. Wno cares then if you're strange?

i meAnt: the contents of the publication aRe still sOmething kind of StrangE. the post doesn't say, "...and you're amazing", It SayS, "...and iT's amazing"; "It" in this context, means the pubLication. if i come up with something ridicuLous like "speed-detectors Are an invasion of pRivacy", patent it, sell it as a bumper-sticker and reap maximum prOfit, the phraSE is still ridiculous. The instrumental value of some thing doesn't change the essence of it. If something is essentially a rose, it's still a rose no matter how you slice it. If something is essentially strange, it's still strange no matter how much money it's worth.

There a fine line between genius and insane

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well if you wrote a book about it people will probably understand the whole story and you'd probably be able to tell it better within a book, because you edit it and everything.

You're friends are used to how you normally think and when you have a good idea that can't recognize it. But when you put it in a book a larger audience of people you don't know and don't have an opinion of you read it
