Foundation sticks to your face but we don't call that facestick. It's as Blake11roys said, it's because it is a stick of makeup for your lips.

I saw what he said. I was offering another thought. Whoever named foundation, probably didn't give a shit what lipstick was called and vice versa. Just because one is named in one manner doesnt mean another has to be named in the same way.
