Hey, bro! As an American and realist, I've gotta ask you why everyone still cares about the Royal Family. It's my understanding that they effectively do nothing, and the "Royal"ness of it all is just for show.

The just for show part is pretty much all it is. The Royals bring in like.. 80% of our tourism, fo' srs. They're a huge part of our history as well so that's another thing. IT's just tradition really.

I see. Well, that's a lot of tourism, so I guess they'er still kind of important. Would you personally be upset if I assassinated the Queen/Duke? That seems like something I'd do to get my name put in the history books.

I'll go straight for the Pope, himself, as well as the Queen, Fidel Castro, and the next 3 Presidents of the U.S. If I'm not famous after that, I'll cry.

I'm from Spain and there's a monarchy here and I assure you being the second most touristed country is not because our King and Queen. It doesn't apply to the United Kingdom either.
