+440 It would've been better if they kept Osama Bin Laden alive for questioning, amirite?

My post was similar but the admins deleted it saying it was spam. Cube haters

I still love you, Companion Cube!

"Did you plot the 9/11 attacks?" "No" "I think he's telling the truth.."

by Anonymous 12 years ago

lol. But as in why he did it. And what else he had done.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

when it all comes down to it, does it really matter? He gets his 72 virgins. We get revenge.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Perhaps he told you the truth knowing you wouldn't believe it even if it was told to you

by Anonymous 12 years ago

if he was telling the truth, he wouldn't have told us unless of course he knew you wouldn't believe the truth even if he told it to you

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There would probably loads more plots of terrorism to try and break him free, and it would just mean they would keep postponing his death... And I hugely doubt he would tell anyone anything, son of a bitch still has Waldo somewhere

by Anonymous 12 years ago

XD I like your Waldo comparison. Okay fine thats true...but I sort of typed this right when I found out about this.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

He might have just killed himself, or just plain not told us anything. Plus he was in a heavily guarded area, it would have meant way more deaths if you include a mission to take him alive and all the people who'd be trying to get him back.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm just glad that the place where his heart is supposed to be stopped operating.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well actually he started shooting at the soldiers so the natural response was to shoot back in self defense. It wasn't an execution, they couldn't take him alive and he was a threat.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I could be wrong, but I'm not sure that the soldiers entered with the intent of capturing him.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It was a kill operation

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Actually, White House counterterrorism adviser John Brennan said that the Navy SEAL team that killed him was told to take him alive IF POSSIBLE, but he presented a threat when they got there so they were forced to kill him.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

they didn't kill him because they wanted to kill him, they killed him because there was no other way to complete the mission. they went in saying if he wanted to surrender, they would've taken him alive (which was what they wanted), but they knew it would most likely end in his death, which it did. i personally think it's better they killed him then and there, because they get it done and don't need to delay what's inevitable.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They could have just told us that they killed him so that nobody would try to interfere.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

...wait a second... wary

by Anonymous 12 years ago

We told him to surrender but he wouldn't. What if he killed all of us? Be thankful he's dead!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I heard they asked him to surrender and he refused

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And I also heard that he used a woman (wife?) as a human shield, so she got caught in the crossfire, either way it would have ended in death, there seemed to be no way around it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Oh my gosh! I so did not know that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I heard he was dead but there's no given proof of that. His body was dumped in a sea because "no country would take him" Funny how when Saddam was captured he was hung for the world to see but now that Osama's been apprehended we have no physical proof. We have no clue that he's dead, although he probably is. When the US declared war on him, he was already old and had some sort of heart problem (may be wrong, had some disease though) so we can assume he's already dead and has been for a while. But till I see some physical proof or until it's 20 years in the future I dare say we can actually assume he's alive. What do we have, the government's word? We all know how good the U.S. government is at keeping their promises.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

He was dumped in the sea so his followers wouldn't make a shrine at his grave, because it would be a place for them to meet and plan more attacks. They say that pictures were taken of Bin Laden right after his death and those will be released as proof.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

there's always a conspiracy theorist. why would the US put a huge target on their back by reporting that bin Laden is dead if they didn't have to? Do you honestly believe that the government only wants the worst for us and therefore will allow its citizens to die to save themselves? accept the fact that he's dead, and move on. im sure in no time the government will release photos of his dead body to appease people like you.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There is no conspiricy here, they have and they releaced DNA evidence.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They had to bury him with in 24 hours of his death, in accordance to Islamic law. So, they had to do it at sea. And like Mason said, they have DNA evidence.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Just wondeiring, why did they do it in accordance with Islamic law?... Out of respect for him?...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't actually know, but when we talked about it in class today, it's what my teacher said.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

as a government official said: we are still american and we dont forget that just because he was our most wanted. not burying him in accordance with the islamic law would have made it seem as though we didn't respect the religion, whereas we don't respect the MAN. the government wants to make this very clear.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If they captured him and took him back to the US, then he would have to go through a trial. That could take years. Al Qaeda would constantly make threats to kill unless he was released, and probably would act on those threats. Better to kill him and be done with it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You know....this is kinda one of the biggest of our foreign policies fails. We finally killed only ONE man that we've been searching for 10 years or more. It's about time. He's been Public Enemy No. 1 for 10 years and we just now killed him? Woot bring out the fireworks. All I gotta say now is.... Either he's really good at hide and seek or we just really suck at it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

To quote Patrick Jane, The Mentalist, "No, I'm not going to kill him. I'm going to make him sorry. Being sorry is worse than being dead. Everyone dies, but only a few people are ever truly sorry."

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They tried to capture him, if you count asking him to surrender at which point they would arrest him. I think that if we had taken him, there would be tons of attacks, bombings, hostages, et cetera, because al-Qaeda would have a chance of getting him back. Kind of like buring him so there wouldn't be a site to make him a martyr.
