+327 "A strawberry avalanche crashed over me..." A lot of Owl City's lyrics are just a bunch of random words strung together, amirite?

If you think so poorly of it, then why do you know the lyrics?

I just said the lyrics were random. In fact, I like owl city a lot but have the most impossible time figuring out what they're trying to say.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

A lot of metaphors and similes, I guess? He's probably our modern day poet since all the classical poems made by "great poets" didn't make any sense either.

So years from now, our children will be studying his lyrics in their English classes, analyzing their meaning.

there's no meaning at all, I never understood half that poetry crap my ELA teacher shoves in my face.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

seriously. i bet the authors never even intended all that symbolic stuff, people just overthink it.

they also sound far too much like the Postal Service..

@108096, Owl City is made up of one person, Adam Young. Therefore, it's not 'they' it is actually 'he'

Maybe because they are the same genre, and maybe you are musically challenged, but they have very distinguishable melodies/harmonies/rhythms and lyrics.
