+305 It's stupid when people describe their relationship status as "taken." You just objectified yourself, way to go, amirite?

I know what it means, thank you very much, and I believe I used it correctly.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

being in a relationship doesnt not mean refering to you as an object. obviously you do, obviously i don't, hense why i disagreed.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm still convince you don't understand.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Many things about that phrase rub me wrong. You're still? You aren't the origional person I was talking to and this is the first thing you've said to me, you couldn't possible "still" be convinced. How do I not understand, when I said the deffinition? And lastly, someone not being on you're side doesn't mean they don't understand you're side, just that they've deducted you're side is wrong even if you're side is the majority.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I read your first comment and I thought you didn't understand, then I read your reply and I still thought you didn't understand. I didn't need to talk to you to have formed an opinion on something you wrote. Your argument is invalid. 'Taken' is slang for in a relationship, but it also means posses. As in property.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

*snort*thats it?you dont understand and your argument is invalid?awesome arguing with you, seriously, that was most of what you brought to the table. 80% of your comment was trying to insult me. cool can mean good or cold but good=/=cold.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

ono I hope your a troll. You do realize you were trying to 'insult' me while writing about me trying to insult you, right? I was explaining to you why you don't make sense, it's not my problem if you take it the way.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

duhhhh im gonna insult someone who insults me? if you can call *snort* an insult. tottaly a troll with a +4 rating

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Pedo_bear was a troll and he was loved. I'm not saying you don't have a point, your reply to OP was that OP thought being in a relationship made you a tool. Thus resulting in me thinking you didn't understand. Then I explained why your argument of me not being able to 'still' have an opinion on something I never expressed my opinion on to you was invalid. Are we even arguing about the same thing? because I think you're arguing about why the post is wrong while I'm arguing on your comments.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

...my comments are ABOUT the post, i am arguing your comments, you are arguing mine. but now were not even on the post any more, so its kind of dumb

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If someone can be taken, they *are* speaking as if they are objects.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

(facepalm) IT IS NOT LITTERALY

by Anonymous 12 years ago

the-unpopular-opinions? c:

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I find it to be just modern slang, but still you have a point.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't see the point. Saying "I have a boyfriend" with different words, doesn't mean you've objectified yourself, unless you concider having a significant other you stay faithful to being objectified in terms of you are theres, but OP says "describe their relationship" not being in one.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"i have a boyfriend" = in a good relationship. "i'm taken" = they own me and i am their "property" yes it's just slang, but the words that are used change the meaning

by Anonymous 12 years ago

only if you nitpick like that, the context, and the meaning, is the same in my eyes.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

In the words of anon "cool can mean good or cold but good=/=cold"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's pretty accurate in the case of Stockholm Syndrome...
