Considering all the honors/AP/random weighted classes my school offers, everyone is taking at least 1 class that boosts their GPA up.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Honors classes at your school have a weighted GPA?
by Anonymous12 years ago
They do at my school. (Only for IB, though. Not ICAP.)
by Anonymous12 years ago
IB isn't "Honors," though, it's a totally different thing. My school didn't offer IB, so I took Honors classes, but I didn't get a higher GPA for them.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Obviously you go to a different school than them then...
by Anonymous12 years ago
4.0-ish :)
by Anonymous12 years ago
3.5...
FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU-
by Anonymous12 years ago
Mine is 4.0!
by Anonymous12 years ago
I'm Indian...mine's like a 4.8
by Anonymous12 years ago
(brownboy94):How is that even possible??
by Anonymous12 years ago
it's not, I think he's exaggerating.
by Anonymous12 years ago
It's possible because Honors/GATE/IB/AP classes are out of 5.0 instead of the normal 4.0
by Anonymous12 years ago
hahaha I have no idea what GPA even means...but how do you convert IB scores to like a GPA?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Let's say you get all A's, but you only have normal classes. You would have a 4.0. If you have all A's in weighted classes you have a 5.0. Just think of it as a B in a weighted class is like an A in a normal class. So, if you get an A in a weighted class you're going beyond the 4.0 limit.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Haha huhh? What is a 4.0? Why are there like...weighted classes and unweighted classes? Lol sorry, I've never been exposed to the US high school system, I'm in China.
by Anonymous12 years ago
a GPA (grade point average) is pretty much a summary of all of your grades which somehow is out of 4.0. Weighted classes are more advanced classes that give you the opportunity to get a higher grade point average, enabling your GPA to be out of 5.0.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Even weighted it is hard because you would have to take at least like 6 honors classes, maybe more.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Yeah, but at my school, we only have so many periods open to take weighted classes. P.E. is a four year class, foreign language a 3 year one, and most electives aren't weighted.
by Anonymous12 years ago
4 years of PE!? I am so sorry. We only need 2! That's true about most electives, but we have AP/IB languages and we have AP/IB Art as well. Another way we can get weighted credits is if we take classes at our local city college.
by Anonymous12 years ago
it's probably weighted.
by Anonymous12 years ago
My school offers shit tons of ap/honors classes. Also it's on a weird weighted 6-point scale and when I converted it to a 4-point scale this is what I got. Even if my calculations are off, it's still pretty high because I have all A's and mostly honors classes.
by Anonymous12 years ago
At my school there are a lot of advanced/honours classes, but they don't improve your average. Actually, they lower your average because it is harder to get good marks for them. The government decided everyone must be equal, and apparently giving extra marks to people who work harder is unfair towards the (excuse me) stupid kids.
by Anonymous12 years ago
4.4 weighted
by Anonymous12 years ago
Mine is 3.38.
by Anonymous12 years ago
2.something I'm an idiot.
by Anonymous12 years ago
4.529, weighted
by Anonymous12 years ago
4.0 :) Some of these geniuses are makin me look bad >.>
by Anonymous12 years ago
Mine was 3.06 D: For one thing, I didn't have as many honor courses, and for another, I was a lazy ass. But next year I'm taking a crap load of weighted courses, so that should help.
by Anonymous12 years ago
With honors and AP classes, my school has a weighted 5.0 scale. With that, I have a 4.6. But I had to change that to unweighted for college apps, and on a 4.0 it's like a 3.885 or something.
by Anonymous12 years ago
3.83 and I'd have a 4.0 if honors classes were weighted ):
by Anonymous12 years ago
4.95 weighted, 4.0 unweighted
by Anonymous12 years ago
4.4 weighted, only because of stupid CP English. 4.0 unweighted.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Yeahhhh see how you do in college. This too shall pass.
by Anonymous12 years ago
4.38 and top 8%, woop woop.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Is it bad for me to say that I don't know, nor do I honestly give a shit?

(indication that my GPA is probably less than 3.6)
by Anonymous12 years ago
3.5671...DAMN. It's chemistry's fault, that class was the devil.
by Anonymous12 years ago
4.027 out of a possible 4.35...I guess that's acceptable
by Anonymous12 years ago
EXACTLY 3.4 :'I
by Anonymous12 years ago
3.8706 Freshman year without honors classes on a 4 scale
by Anonymous12 years ago
Nah. I was too lazy this year.
There isn't any honors classes in my school until junior year either...
by Anonymous12 years ago
2.7...
Yeahh, I'm totally going to college.
by Anonymous12 years ago

Yes I knew you were being sarcastic, hence the all caps and the obnoxious smilie.
by Anonymous12 years ago
87% Average. Don't know what the equivalent of that is in USA?
by Anonymous12 years ago
3.48 :).
My gpa sucks cause of freshmen year. God damn weed makes you lazy.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I find it weird ho Americans have averages that high then though? Because I'm top of my grade, and my avergae is 87%. We don't get bonus marks though.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Yeah bro, a lot of schools use grade inflation. They grade much easier and they have AP and honors classes that boost up the gpa.
You have an unweighted 3.48 and if you're top of your class...you most likely go to a hell of a hard school.
Btw most of the kids on this site are smart as hell so don't get discouraged. :]] a 3.48 is way higher than the average American unweighted gpa.
