+470 It's kinda sad that kids today don't have good old fashioned violent cartoons like Looney Tunes, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Note: I know that there are some cartoons with violence these days but it seems as though each cartoon that comes out is more politically correct and with less explosions.

It's called Family Guy and American Dad.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Those are more adult oriented cartoons. Looney Tunes would be more in the age group of kids who watch Sponge Bob or Fairly Odd Parents or Hey Arnold.

It seems like more kids are being allowed to watch Family Guy and American Dad though..but they do have Looney Toons on in the afternoons on Cartoon Network.

And in the mornings at like 5am :P I see your points. It's just sad the show doesn't get more credit.

They need to get rid of that Adventuretime crap and all of those shows like it and just run a Looney Toons marathon.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Excatly. I would so watch that marathon and make my little brother watch it, too. I can't believe I'm related to someone who likes the crap they show nowadays! The only good cartoon he likes is Rugrats and he watches that on netflicks all the time. When I was his age, I would watch TV for maybe an hour, then go play outside until my mother made me come in for dinner. Then I'd go back outside. And that was after I had done my homework and not even counting what I did on the weekends. Getting him inside is no problem for her, it's getting him outside that's hard.

It is terrible how much has changed in such a short amount of time.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I know! I'm only six and a half years older than the boy and my childhood was completely different than his is. It really is unbelievable.

@1249374 (Taja_Rage): I wonder if this is what it feels like to be an old person. "Damn kids today. They wouldn't know a good cartoon if it slapped them in the face."

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm only 21 and shit like this makes me feel ancient.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I didn't think of it that way until now... Shit, if I feel this old at only sixteen I wonder how I'm going to feel when I'm sixty or something... God, when I have kids and talk about stuff like Rugrats and Hey Arnold and the Angry Beavers and Saved By The Bell and all that awesome stuff, they're probably going to think I'm insane for ever watching that stuff. Which is why they will probably hate me when I make them watch Teletubbies and Barney as their punishment.

Instead of Merry Melodies which is funny animals blowing things up to classical music, there's anime, and sexual cartoons.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

what's wrong with anime?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's just not the same as dear ol' Bugs Bunny. And there is enough that is sexual that it can be found by young children, which kids aren't really mature enough for.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

In my country we only have American cartoons. It's rather messed up that they show anime other than the ones targetted to little children on TV on times when they know kids are watching... :/
