+59 You shouldn't have a view on murder, it should just be wrong. amirite?

The world is not just black or white, there are varying shades of gray.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

but this should not be one of them, there should never be a strong enough reason to kill another human being

What do you do when there is an evil you cannot defeat by just means? Do you stain your hands with evil to destroy evil, or do you remain steadfastly just and righteous even if it means surrendering to evil?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

if someone is causing and being evil being evil in return is not a good answer yes he should be put in a place where he cannot harm and cause more evil...how do you live with yourself if you destroy evil by destroying and sacrificing your own morals and goodness

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I could live with myself just fine if I killed something evil.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I really doubt that. Sure you can say that and even your morals and thoughts could be with you, but you would definitely go through a traumatic experience.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

There is a HUGE difference between a traumatic experience and not being able to live with yourself and sacrificing your morals and goodness.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

There is a huge difference between being able to live with yourself just fine and having a trraumatic experience, but slowly getting over it.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No there isn't. Living just fine doesn't imply good quality. You can live just fine through a traumatic experience.

"Sir, you seem to have misplaced your knife in my abdomen! I'll just remain motionless whilst you wriggle it around a bit." "Aren't you going to do something about that?" "Why, no, I'm not! My belief that killing people is unjust far outweighs my will to live." That's just how life goes, isn't it?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

you do nit have to kill someone to defend yourself, I am not a pacefist by any means.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

In my case, I commit evil to destroy the greater evil!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

in my view there is no "greater evil" evil is evil and should be wrong, and everyone should strive to not commit evil

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're clearly a moral absolutist, and I commend you for your bravery in taking up such a position (given its lack of defensibility). If even a single circumstance could be imagined where some believed killing might be right, then by definition it cannot be called absolute. Now if only this thread wasn't started 1 year ago, I might have a chance of being replied to.

Sometimes people can't be changed. Only stopped. And my guess is you're too young to have a mature or experienced perspective on murder... Or anything for that matter.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Too right. It reads like the childish musings of a .....well...a child! Putting evil to the sword is sometimes the only option we have!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Abortion.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Someone holds a gun to my child's head. Obviously insane. Can't reason with him obviously. I also have a gun. If I shoot to scare him or just injure him, he'll instinctively tense and kill my child. If I shoot him in the head, my child lives. Whose life are you willing to save?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Justice and self-defence both would probably count as murder, but they wouldn't necessarily be wrong.
