There used to be a sequence on Sesame Street, many years ago, that made me sad every time I saw it. It was cartoon of a boy hugging a balloon until it burst, and then he started crying until another one flew his way to replace it. I have never been able to find it on the Internet :(

no, because i know that it is on a journey far beyond my control, and that someday it will be embraced by the icy grip of the never ending sky... for that is the inevitable conclusion to all of life's journeys. Farewell old friend, and godspeed!

My mom always told us that we're freeing the balloons, and that they float to where all there balloon friend are. It was her way to get rid of it before we got into the car.

Balloons that are just set free hurt the environment. But then again, what doesn't these days.
