+180 Yes, we are all created equal. But some of us take actions in life that make us unequal to everyone else. A society in which everyone is equal is unrealistic. amirite?

I agree with the idea that total equality is unrealistic, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't aim for it. Also disagree that we are all created (or start off as) equal, because people are born into different circumstances that puts them into power positions in society. But I do agree with the actions/taking personal responsibility bit. Like, my idea of equality would be everyone starts out the same, and you're own personal choices determine what happens, even if what happens is unequal. In my hypothetical fantasy world, every child would go to school that has sufficient teachers and classes, with all the books and materials they need, and full bellies and lack of problems at home, and their own personal effort determines their future. Obviously this is highly unrealistic, because it will never happen, and other factors come into play - some people just aren't good at academic things, different ability levels, different skills, etc. but basically what I'm saying is that everyone shouldn't have equal success, but everyone should have equal opportunities for success.
