+391 its annoying how some people say "majority of Muslims are terrorists." there are over 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide.. if the majority were terrorist, we'd all be screwed. amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I was going to agree, then i realized I've never met anyone who has said or implied that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

well, lucky you :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There's a group of Christians at my school who hate Muslims. And they make it clear that they think all Muslims are terrorists.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Then they're not Christians

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Must Muslims are extremists, as they take pride in their religion. Not terrorists. They are not the same thing.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

how does taking pride in your religion make you an extremist? I think the majority of people are proud of their religion, or they wouldn't follow it, correct?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Extremism is not taking pride in your religion. And you have extremists and fanatics in every religion. Take the Westboro Baptist Church, for example.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Its annoying how people defend muslims and call Christians haters even though Christians take more abuse than muslims, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

lolwut

by Anonymous 12 years ago

On this site, maybe, but not in real life.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

ever see Christians made fun of on TV? Of course you have, it happens all the time. Ever see muslims get made fun of on TV? Never. Because the writers get death threats when they try.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

What about Achmed the Dead Terrorist?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I seriously think you don't own a TV. Every religion and race is made fun of on TV. Don't believe it? Turn on South Park, or SNL. And as a Muslim, I don't mind these shows. Make fun of us all you want, I'm fine with it and I'm able to laugh at it and I'm not going to send "death threats".. But at the same time, its one thing to make fun of the followers of a religion, but its another to make fun of their religious beliefs. When people start mocking certain beliefs, you better believe people are going to get mad (i.e. sending "death threats." Which, by the way, also goes against Islamic teachings since terrorism, unjustified violence, and the killing of innocent people is absolutely forbidden in Islam.) And mocking beliefs just crosses a line that turns something funny, into something messed up

(anonymous-ness): Not to be mean, but with the entire South Park incident, they portrayed Jesus watching internet porn, Buddha doing coke, and they say that you can't insult Muslims on TV, as a joke, and those episodes gain death threats. I thought that entire situation was dumb as fuck.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

those individuals who sent death threats should not represent Muslims as a whole

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm not saying they do, and they really shouldn't. I'm just saying that you can't pretend all Muslims are great, peaceful people, and you can't assume all people of other or no religions are great people.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

yeah man i agree with you, extremism and fanaticism is a problem that is common to all religious groups.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

(anonymous-ness): I thought Muslims did human sacrifices and stuff though? Like what was that whole thing on the news... And they killed hundreds of innocent people on 9/11. Were they a different kind of Muslim ? I'm not being sarcastic.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not all Muslims are terrorists. I honestly know only what I've heard from other people and read in my history text book, never read the Koran, but from what I've heard, most don't believe in killing themselves. Again, I don't positively know, I don't personally know any Muslims, but most see the Jihad (suffering for belief in God and Islam. One of the 5 pillars Muslims have to do) in many different ways. To different people, it could mean dealing with being insulted, dealing the with hardships of your faith and struggles with faith itself. It can also take on a violent context, such as being beaten or killed because of their faith. Often extremists will take this to mean killing themselves in the name of their god. They believe and are trained by extremists to believe, that it is righteous to kill infidels (non-muslims) in the name of holiness and that by dying in the process they will be rewarded for their martyrdom.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Again, from what I understand, this is the minority of Muslims going around actually killing non-muslims. They don't really do human sacrifices, they just think that dying in the name of their faith will get them a one way trip to heaven.

Since when is tv real life?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Nope, it's true. Christians get constantly bashed, but if someone bashes Islam, they're called racist [because a surprising amount of people think that "Muslim" is a race] Maybe it's just a few places, though.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I honestly don't hear either one being worse than the other when it comes to amount of bashing, but comments about Muslims are usually a bit harsher.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I've never heard anyone say this.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Imagine if the Chinese were terrorists! They're in almost every city in the world. We'd stand no chance! Haha

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Your laughter leads me to believe that you are tight with the Chinese.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

(Chauncy Pickles): oh you better believe it. =)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Maybe they're too busy planning it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Terrorism, unjustified violence, and the killing of innocent people is absolutely forbidden in Islam. lsam is a way of life that is meant to bring peace to a society, whether its people are Muslim or not. The extreme actions of those who claim to be Muslim may be, among other things, a result of their ignorance or uncontrolled anger.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Whoa that's more Muslims then I thought existed. Anyway there are what you call Muslim extremists and just regular people. The extremists are those crazies like the Westboro Baptist church, hateful, scum of the earth but more violent. The non-extremists AKA normal people are just like you and me. With 1.5 billion Muslims I would say 1.5 billion of those Muslims are normal people and a few thousand (1-10k) are extremists of different levels. In basic a very very tiny portion of normal people.
