+322 When something goes wrong in your life, you really DON'T want to hear "That stinks but don't worry, God has a plan for everything.", amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'll start the fight that's inevitably going to happen. God is a fairy tale.

I sure hope God is real, because if not, that means that I'm not real!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Um... I WANT TO HEAR THAT!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You know who ELSE had a plan for everything? My MOM!

But who would High Five Ghost talk to? Occasionally someone replies as him. He could be the same person each time. I don't want to disappoint him.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's time to just retire all of them from amirite.

It appears that we have reached a conflict of interests because I do not agree with genocide.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I do believe in God, I just don't think that every bad thing that happens has a major reason behind it. And when something is bad, I just want to say it's bad and have people listen

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This. Also I think that when something bad does happen it's always the people who believe "everything happens for a reason" who get depressed/suicidal and begin to reject religion because they can't find a reason for so-and-so dying.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think right after the bad thing happens you don't want to hear that. For example, if someones house is burning down, the last thing they want to hear is "Jesus is awesome!" when they're like "I don't care! My flat screen just went up in flames!" But after the incident, when they found help, hearing about Jesus and all he can do for you is comforting.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

yes i agree with that (:

Something I don't understand is free will. God gave us free will to do whatever the fuck we want. But God also has a plan for everything. It's just too contradictory, so I don't like the whole God has a plan thing. And I'm a Christian (I find it stupid that I have to state that so I don't get bashed on)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm with you on that. I don't know, the way I think about it is that maybe we can all do whatever we want, and we're free to make choices, but for the big picture God has a direction for us. Our choices just reflect who we are and how we get there?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If God has a direction for us, are we really making the decisions without any subconcious help from Him?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There was this girl, and due to free will she chose to get involved with drugs and alcohol at a young age. To sum my story up a bit, her behavior caused a lot of problems for her family. But due to God's plan, she is now clean, married with two kids, she is actively involved in her church and her family forgave her. True story. Mabye that'll help clear some things up.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

While you may look at it as Gods plan, I see it as more of she made her own choices to become clean. However she did it is Irrelevant.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I like to think of it as this, God has a plan for everyone, but he also gave us free will to choose to follow his plan, living our life and following directions when He gives them to us, which ends in getting to heaven, or for us to do our own thing. It's kinda like "Red pill vs. Blue pill". Btw I'm agnostic but I was raised Christian

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This makes the most sense out of any explanations. Thank you for clearing it up.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No problem man

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Why? They're just trying to comfort you... It really isn't that big of a deal.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

God isn't real. There's no proof.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

We see much, observe little, and perceive less.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There is no proof he isnt real either, and I could give you a million things that could "prove" god is real. But you would just explain them off as coincidences because you don't WANT to believe he is real

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Just out of curiosity, no hate here, can I have an example of proof god is real? Promise I won't be judgmental. It sucks that I have to write that I won't judge or look down on your beliefs. Why can't people be more accepting?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

One example? Ok, this one is slightly personal too. My dad is a biker, and he loves his Honda Shadow 1100. It was having transmission problems and he couldn't afford the parts or the labor, so he decides to sell it. Finds a guy who's willing to buy it for $1000. He sells the bike, and the guy takes it. Couple weeks later he get a call from the guy "Hey, I fixed your bike. God spoke to me and told me to fix it for you and give it back to you." My dad cries because he's so happy. The guy gives him his bike back, and let's him keep the $1000. My dad has never met this guy before in his life, but he goes to a church in the nearby city and is an avid Christian.

@1321777 (Credetemi): I don't believe that there is or is not a god, but I am in awe of people's faith. You know? Like, religious people like you guys are so sure that there is something above us, and it takes a lot to believe that. A lot of atheists look down on that and say that it's stupid or whatever, but I personally find it admirable.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm actually not a Christian, I was raised Christian, but I'm agnostic. I believe there is something out there, but I just haven't found a church that doesn't bore the hell out of me (pun intended)

Yeah I was just about to say there's no proof that He's not. Everyone has the right to believe what they want, but for me, it's what you live for. I believe in the morals and the way of life and having faith. Yes, there are questions and doubts, but ultimately I believe He looks over everything

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I respect those that do, but I don't beleive in God. If your life is controlled by God, that means ever thought and action you make weren't your choice. I don't like that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You also don't want to hear, "hey, just chill, everything will work out, it always does." but it's better than some asshole coming along making it worse by reminding you of all the other shitty things in your life. I personally believe that someone needs another person to help calm them calm down in times of high stress regardless of how we feel when someone tries to calm us down.
