+309 It's one thing being a really crazy fan but a whole other thing when you name your kids after them amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If the name was invented specifically for the book/movie/artist/what have you (like if you named your child Hermione or Dumbledore or something), that would be a little extreme. But I have a friend who was named after Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice, and I think thats very cool.

Hermione isn't a name invented for the book...

Oh damn :O I'm sorry if I offended anyone with that name then. I'd never heard it before, so maybe its a British thing? I'm an ignorant American :/

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm not British, I just know it's a real name because I've met a girl with it(not named after Hermione Granger).

by Anonymous 12 years ago

you know most "standard American names" derived from British names right?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

However it is a rather rare name, plucked from one of Shakespeare's lesser known plays, so most people immediately associate the name with Harry Potter.

If its a normal name I think it is okay, but if its something like, Albus, or Sirus, Harry Potter doesnt have much odd names but Twilight has `renesme`` imagine a child with a name like that :/
