+672 You still have a lot of unanswered questions about Harry Potter, like who took Voldemort's body after he killed James and Lily, where do Hogwarts teachers sleep and shower or why no staff member seems to be married, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

i dont have any of those questions.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You also don't have an identity.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They're not married so that they can participate in massive Hogwarts Teacher orgies without guilt. Duh.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

(Harry Pervert): Because someone would have had sex with Snape. Right.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Snape has more fangirls than any of the other characters.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Voldemort's body was destroyed after he killed James and Lily, so he was just this wandering spirit that then found Quirrel. There's probably like a teachers lounge somewhere, like the common rooms the students have. All the teachers are such hard workers, that they don't have time for relationships until they are out of school, like Lupin. Except for Snape, who is a heart broken man who will never find love again. *Please note that they above is merely speculation*

by Anonymous 12 years ago

(Prof_E):You know, that first question has been bugging me for years, because if what you say is true (and I think it’s written in one of the books, but I’m not sure), that means that the Avada Kedavra curse that rebounded on Voldemort destroyed his body and spared his soul, but it’s supposed to do the exact opposite…

by Anonymous 12 years ago

But his soul couldn't be completely destroyed because of his horcruxes, so I guess that's why his body was destroyed instead...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't know, it's all really confusing, I hope she explains it on Pottermore.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The part of his soul that was in his body was destroyed, and his body was destroyed in the resulting explosion.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

(Prof_E):But let’s say his body and soul were simply separated. That means that the body was left behind, and that someone had to dispose of it before it was found. Meanwhile, the piece of soul contained by the body was left to possess different animals in order to survive. But why didn’t it just disappear, like everyone else’s does when they die? Of course he had Horcruxes, but according to Dumbledore, if a Dark Wizard was killed, only the pieces of his soul concealed in objects would survive, not the actual piece left in his body.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well, considering that the spell only rebounded because of Lily's love, it probably didn't have the same affect as a regular killing spell, or when someone with a wand rebounded it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Thank you, I was going to answer the same thing. But the last thing isn't necessarily true; it's not because of that, maybe they just don't want to get married or didn't find the right person. It's not just the teachers who are unmarried, a lot of other wizards aren't either. And the only reason Lupin got married after he stopped being a teacher, isn't because he stopped being a teacher, but because he found the right woman in the 5th book.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, I wasn't being completely serious about the last one, but all the teachers are extremely dedicated to their students. Except the dark arts teachers...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There is a staff lounge which appears multiple times throughout the series. ex: where filch cleans snape's wound from fluffy, where harry and pals fight the boggart in a wardrobe in his third year, and where harry and ron go late in the second book, also seeing the aforementioned wardrobe.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

In the first movie, it seemed like Prof. McGonagal (or however you say it) and Dumbledore were in a relationship... just sayin'.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

But J. K. Rowling has revealed that Dumbledore's gay, I think he even had a relationship with Grindelwald.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Minerva needed a gay best friend. Who else would tell her if her hat went will with her robes?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, but BEFORE she revealed him to be gay, I think a lot of readers expected them to get together someday. Especially when they were dancing at the Yule Ball together, you know?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not me... I always saw him as sort of solitary and celibate, which is really what he was after the whole Grindelwald heartbreak. Coming to terms with the fact that the love of your life is evil as you're watching him torture your brother, possibly kill your sister, and attempt to start a genocide can really make a man give up on the whole idea of "romantics".

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wait, he's gay? Since when?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I always liked their relationship, and I used to think that McGonagall had a bit of a crush on Dumbledore. Who wouldn't, with that long, sexy beard?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, I do agree that it's not unlikely that McGonagall had a bit of a crush on Dumbledore, just because she clearly admired him enough.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

who cares. harry potter sucks.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

get out.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not for free. No, but Siriusly GET THE FUCK OUT.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"Siriusly." Oh, I HAVE to tell you a joke now. Lupin: Really, Harry, I think you might have a chance with Ron's sister. Harry: Are you fucking serious? Lupin: I wish.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That is my favorite Harry Potter joke EVER. Thank you so much for posting it. This one is also pretty high in my book. Knock Knock? Who's there? You know... You know who? Avada kedavra!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have a good one. Harry: You're white. Sirius: No, I'm Black. Harry: Stop joking. Sirius: No, I'm Sirius.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ok, who let the twilight fan on the internet?!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I've always wondered what happened to the Weasley's after the Battle of Hogwarts...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ok I think nevil acctually marries luna, harry didn't actuall see his parents killed, his dad died downstares and harry was in a baby basket thing when his mom died so he didn't seed her, and harry saw quirl begin to die but passed out before he really died. And the real answer to the thestrals j.k. only thout them up in the fith book so stop over analyzing.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

... Neville marries Hannah Abbot actually. Though, I would not mind AT ALL if he got with Luna xP -xoxo

by Anonymous 12 years ago

JKR said that she did consider putting Neville and Luna together, but she thought they'd be a little lost as a couple. Each of them needed a spouse that would help keep them grounded.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Luna married Rolf Scamander

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Who the hell is...?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have no clue. He is the guy Luna married though

by Anonymous 12 years ago

He's a naturalist or something I guess... and they had twin boys Lorcan and Lysander...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lorcan... and... Lysander... Ohh, I bet they get made fun of a lot.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Haha right?! But only Luna would name her children that

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And Rolf Scamander, apparently.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well... it proves they're... great(?) for eachother. But I honestly like her with Neville better not gonna lie

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ah well. I guess Neville didn't have a queer enough name.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

NEVILLE LONGBOTTOM. enough said.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lysander Scamander. Haha, that rhymes:)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Waitwaitwait! So her sons name is actually Lysander Scamander? Gotta love Luna. xD

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Rolf Scamander is the grandson of Newt Scamander. He wrote one of the textbooks, Magical Beasts and Where to Find Them.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

OH. That makes sense now. Thanks. :P

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them*

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So, I didn't actually bother to read that...based on your poor spelling and down votes, I assumed that your comment was filled with poor logic and incorrect conjectures that have been proven by the Word of God herself, J.K. Rowling.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"harry was in a baby basket thing when his mom died so he didn't seed her" Resist jokes, Mary, you can do it, you're strong!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I quite enjoyed reading all of that. ^^

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm just gonna guess and say quirrell took voldies body considering he fused to the back of his head, the teachers probably have some hidden door in their offices like the room of requirement, and who doesn't love the single life?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Sorry if I'm spoiling anything, but as said in the 6 book, Voldemort had 6 horcruxes. Therefore, since Horcruxes require you to split your soul in a malicious act of evil, the power of love overcame the horcrux's protection of evil. Therefore splitting his soul out of his body, releasing his spirit to roam the Earth, alone. His body was still intact, however, reduced to a feeble state. His wandering soul met Quirrel and convinced him to join the death eaters, as we know in the first book. Then, since Quirrel got turned to dust, along with voldemort, Pettigrew went around, searching for Voldemort after he was freed in the 3rd book. After that, he made an elixir to bring Voldemort back to life. At least, that's what I assumed.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

COUGH COUGH seven Horcruxes, the last Horcrux is Harry himself COUGH COUGH

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No. 6 Horcruxes. The books say his soul was split in 7 parts, one of which was himself.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

harry was an accidental extra horcrux

by Anonymous 12 years ago

1. Harry 2. Nagini 3. Diary 4. Cup 5. Locket 6. Diadem 7. Ring

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, but harry didn't become a horcrux until after Voldy tried to kill him

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I want to know what Horcrux did Voldemort go into when his spell backfired on him while trying to kill infant Harry Potter.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

His soul actually just kind of floated around and he possesed snakes and other animals.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

My questions are: ~What was the relationship between Draco and Harry after the 7th book? ~Do wizards have "higher education" like college or do they just have vocational training? ~What has Aberforth been up to all this time (we don't even meet him until the end of book 7) ~What happens to the Dursleys? ~What caused Regulus to leave the Death Eaters and betray Voldemort? ~Kind of random but to portraits of peoples have personalities and IQ? do they retain the memories of their actual person? even if they're dead? for example the portrait of professor dumbledore in the headmaster's office?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

~JKR has said that she never meant for them to become great friends or that Draco become a great guy after choosing not to side with the Death Eaters, so I don't think they hung out on weekends or anything. But they were no longer enemies. ~Not sure... the series seems to suggest that they just have vocational training at the Ministry and stuff. ~I'm pretty sure Aberforth was just chilling as the barman of the Hog's Head. Also, he was in the original Order of the Phoenix. ~Apparently, Dudley and Harry were never close, but they remained on "Christmas card terms". JKR actually considered that Dudley have a wizard child, but decided that no wizard blood could survive contact with Uncle Vernon's blood. ~Still a mystery! A lot of fanfiction speculation on the matter though... maybe we'll find out on Pottermore? ~That's really interesting... I'd like to find out more. http://www.accio-quote.org/articles/2005/0705-tlc_mugglenet-anelli-1.htm

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The question about Regulus was answered. He freaked out when he found out how far it was going and tried to back out. As Sirius said, you don't just hand in your resignation to Voldemort.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well, yeah, but "freaked out" isn't that specific. I'd be interested to hear the full story. And besides, that's just Sirius' interpretation. Sirius didn't know that Regulus took the locket. He thought Regulus just chickened out and was therefore killed.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

yea i know that part..id like a more detailed version...i guess this will always be left to imagination though because at this point both Regulus and Voldemort are dead.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

True.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Regulus left the Death Eaters because Voldemort wanted to kill Kreacher by testing the security of the locket horcrux on him. It was when Regulus found out what Voldemort had done to Kreacher that he changed sides.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

thanks :]

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Am I the only one who questions what happens when muggle students like Hermione just kind of "disappear" out of muggle school districts all together? Or how the wizarding world is concealed, not Hogwarts, but like the Weasley house and others. Is there like another realm that's invisible? Or does what that shrunken head in the third movie said apply to houses, about muggles not using their eyes and noticing things?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, I wondered that too. I guess their parents probably just say they're homeschooled or something. What I always wondered was, didn't Hermione have any muggle-friends? Because there's never any mention of any but I find it hard to believe she didn't have a single friend growing up, or that she would totally drop them when she found out she was a witch.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well she didn't have any friends at Hogwarts at first, right? Because she wasn't a very likeable person, really. My guess is that if she did have any Muggle friends before going to Hogwarts, they weren't exceedingly close.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Boarding school? Technically they aren't lying.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Apparently in England its pretty common practice to send your kids to boarding school, so you could probably just rattle off the name of some obscure school, and on the off chance that someone you know also has a child who goes there you can just pass it off as them not having any classes together.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Also, I don't remember, I haven't picked up the book since I finished it way back when it cam out, but does Hermione ever get her parents' memories back after obliterating them?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

JKR mentioned that after finishering her seventh year and taking her N.E.W.T.s and stuff she found her parents and and gave them their memories

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Neville became a teacher and he had a wife.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

my only question is, was james downstairs and killed before lily? or with lily?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lily ran upstairs. James was killed first.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I LOVE the mods for putting up those spoiler-protectors!! shows they care about harry potter!! yeaaa!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I just wonder why Salazar Slytherin put the entrance to the chamber of secrets in the girls' bathroom.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Cool fact: J.K. Rowling wrote the last chapter of the seventh book before even finishing the first book.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Dumbledore's gay so...
