+296 It would be great to climb Mt. Everest and reach the top. But it would suck to have to climb all the way back down. Where's the motivation in that? It's like, "Wooh! Yah! Haha we made it! Now lets turn around and go all the way back down.", amirite?

It's in the "death zone" helicopters can't fly that high. You have a better chance of being rescued on the moon than if you're in the death zone

Well, I go hiking uphill a lot on mountain trails. The trip back is always faster. Especially when you just jump off the side and let gravity do all the work. It can actually be enjoyable; if you ignore some bruises and head injuries.
