+170 You feel that Disney will never be able to make a movie as good as the classics everyone knows (The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Cinderella, etc) Nothing will ever be in their league, amirite?

I think we just feel that way because we were raised on them and now we dont feel the same connection to the new movies coming out.

I don't know Tangled was pretty good.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I heard Cars wasn't all that bad either.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Cars is no Mulan though.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Agreed. That's what I like about The Princess and the Frog. Her attitude is very much like Mulan.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah, the princess in the frog was pretty good too. I didn't like bolt though.

Maybe because we're getting older children's movies and tv shows have less appeal, and we just like the older ones because of the nostalgia they bring.

Movies like Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc are way better in my opinion. The only thing I really miss from the old movies though are the songs.

I have to agree with liking the current ones better, but I actually dislike singing in movies. I miss the animation style. The 3D is nice but I really appreciate 2D.

I couldn't care less for Disney movies. They never played role in my life.

I haven't watched a lot of the new stuff, so maybe I'm wrong, but the classic Disney movies had iconic ballads or songs that were easy and beautiful to sing (a whole new world, let's get down to business, part of your world, when somebody loved me, etc). I miss that.

Let's not forget I Won't Say I'm in Love. One of my all-time favorites to sing.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

My high school choir had a Disney-themed showcase one year, and nearly all of the girls fought over the chance to sing I Won't Say I'm in Love.

Tangled, princess and the frog, brave... I think the movies are getting better because they actually teach a lesson

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The old ones taught a lesson too. I think the new ones (at least the new princess movies) are getting better because they're going back to the basics and following the style of Cinderella/Snow White/ all the other princess movies.

The Lion King came out in 1994... Can you honestly call that a classic?
