+150 Amy Winehouse's death is truly a tragedy. We all know she struggled with her own demons, but her music really captivated the world. Her soulful sound helped to pave the way for the modern British pop singers. You can say whatever you want for some of the life choices she made, but you cannot deny her talent. amirite?

"They tried to make me go to rehab, but I said No No No"...truly inspirational lyrics. I'm tolerant of all genres of music, but that is just pure shit.

Listen to her other songs, you whore.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wow, who knew Einstein spoke with such language?!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's not like that's the only song she wrote....

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Listen to Back to Black. It was popular and it also had good lyrics. You can't say that every song by every artist on your ipod is deep and meaningful.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Maybe so, but I wasn't refering to that song. Her albums are amazing, but I will never understand why she chose that for a single

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because she really didn't want to go to rehab and she wanted everybody else to know too.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

She went though bastard

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well it didn't do much good did it now?

I find it quite humiliating to our beings of human that people were congradulating and celebrating her death. Who cares if you didn't like her music or her as a person? Being happy that someone (who has nothing to harm anyone but herself (besides her emotionally hurt family and friends) and hasn't hurt any innocent people in cold blood) is dead is just unnacceptable and embarassing to me. I think it's so shameful people are HAPPY another human being is gone forever from this planet (besides her body or her "ghost" or whatever the fuck other thing you want to say). People disgust me.

Any death is a tragedy, but I wouldn't say her music captivated the world. She had a unique voice, definitely nowhere near the best I've heard though.

Not every death is a tradegy

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Its a tragedy to someone

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not necessarily

great argument buddy :)

But apparently I'm supposed to care more about some people who died in Norway whom I've never met or know anything about

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well, 77 deaths > 1 death, so yeah, it's understandable why the 2011 Norway Attacks are also a big deal. Each death matters, man un

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Thousands of people die every day, I don't care about 99.9% of them either.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because you don't know about them. But when you know it happened, you can't help but feel a little sorry, don't you?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, not really. I know for fact that thousands of other people died today and I'm not sorry about it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Most of them were CHILDREN who were killed by a crazy terrorist. No offense to her, but Amy's death was mostly her fault. I understand that not everyone feels sympathy for people they don't know, but how the hell can you talk about it like that!? That's just plain disrespect. That's like saying you don't care about 9/11 because you didn't know anyone there. Or you don't care about the Holocaust because you didn't live during that time. Have some fucking respect for human life.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lol, don't call me disrespectful for not caring about the casualties of people I don't know, but then say something like "Amy's death was mostly her fault." *That* is disrespectful. This situation is actually quite ironic. If your friend's dad died of a drug overdose, you wouldn't say "no offense, but it was mostly his fault." Only because you don't know Amy Winehouse do you feel comfortable saying "it was mostly her fault". And yet you criticize me for not caring about people I don't know. Well, you're guilty of the exact same thing.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I was only using it as a way to compare the two situations. By no means do I think that Amy's death is not sad. I'm sure she was a good person who didn't deserve to die. She deserves attention for her death, and she deserves to be mourned. But the people who died in Norway deserve to be mourned and respected, also. Just because Amy was a celebrity doesn't mean her death is suddenly more important and attention worthy than the 92 victims of the terrorist attacks.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think the victims' deaths are sad, too. But if I'm going to mourn something, it's going to be the reason they died, not the actual fact that they died. I'm not a huge Amy Winehouse fan or anything but she made a couple songs I like. By default, I care more about her death than the deaths of people I don't know.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No one cared about her music before she died, and now that she has died she's truly talented and inspiring. If she actually was, then people would have thought so before her death.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I was going to say something like this. Seriously, for YEARS now, no one cared about her. All you heard about was her drug use and how messed up her life was, and it was an obvious downward spiral. I wasn't shocked at all when I heard that she died of an overdose. It's not that it wasn't tragic, because for her family it was. But as for me? I don't care much. I was never a fan, and I honestly saw this coming for years.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

that may for true for some people, but I posted this because I have been an Amy winehouse fan for years. I get that now because of her death some people are like "wow she was so soulful" or whatever, but I don't see it tht way. And also, I think that's just how it goes. Look at Micheal Jackson, before he died everyone just speculated about surgery, or supposed harassment.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's usually the case with celebrity deaths, especially those who have been out of the public eye for a while or who have had bad reputations. It seems that when they die, everyone acts like they've always loved them and whatnot. It's kind of insulting to their real fans, if you think about it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I really dont know who she is and I dont care I dont like modern music anyway

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes, it is sad that she died. She was only 27 and had many years to go in her life. What I don't like is that people were saying that Her dying is leaving a gaping hole in the music industry. She may have been popular, but she was not a huge star that EVERYONE listened to. Plus, I bet most of the people saying she was an amazing artist were the same people that looked down upon her before she died.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I am sad she is dead. Not because her music spoke to me, I didn't really care for it, but because death is just a sad thing. I feel bad like I would if an elderly neighbor died or my best friend's cat, just because that is how I was taught to approach deaths. Her music however didn't speak to me.
