You always find typos in major books and wonder how the heck that got past the editor. amirite?

If it's a five page children's book, yeah, but one typo for every thousand words is not a bad record.

I always wonder, but then I realize that it's a lot harder than it looks. I'm an editor for an 86 page newsmagazine and after reading 5 or 6 stories, you start missing a lot more. Besides, when reading casually, it's a lot easier to find mistakes than under pressure.
