+271 You've always wondered why Pokemon say their name in the anime but make a random noise in the games, amirite?

You think by 4th gen they'd make it to where they said their names. In 1st gen I SORT of understood with lack of technology but now, they could give it a shot. It'd be so cool!

Didn't pikachu, in yellow version, say its name?

For some reason I haven't heard Onix say it's name in the show. It's like "Graahawwahrwararahww"

it's probably due to nintendo being too cheap to record the names so they decided to go to use random sounds just to make themselves a bigger profit. By the way has anyone noticed that on the pokemon games that Charizard and Rhyhorn have exactly the same cry
