+193 Girls: if you want true equal rights, then you should be forced to sign up for the draft when you turn 18 as well. Complete equality, none of this pick and choose crap. amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's kinda sexist...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wtf? How is this sexist? Women want equal rights as men, except they want a few extra privileges. Remember the story about the woman who cut off her husband's penis because he wanted a divorce? No one defended the man. One show involving Rachael Ray and some other stuck up cunts actually SUPPORTED the woman. If the tables were turned, lets say the man did something equally horrendous, he would be the bad guy and the woman would be the victim. Women always have those parades and shit about promoting women's rights which is fine. If men got together and had a parade promoting men's rights, it would be sexist. In the words of the AmazingAtheist, it's only sexist when men do it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You really wanna know how this statment sexist, just as ThisIsWhyImRite says Women have babies! Women also have monthly periods...guys will never understand what all women go through...so unless you have been in our shoes you really can't talk...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

How the fuck does that relate to the original post? Both sexes have problems they have to deal with. But it's beside the point, feminists want the benefits of being a man without the struggles.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wth?!? Women struggle everyday!!! Women go to work ,come home, and what do they have to do?!?clean the house, cook, and take care of the kids while the men sit there and eat and watch tv an go to sleep ...and y'all sexist men will never get that through talks thick skulls..

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This still has nothing to do with the original post moejoe, stop posting you are only digging a hole for yourself. Need I get into double standards? On another note: You just generalized men being lazy buffoons, nice stereotype, you hypocrite. Calling men sexist when you are being sexist yourself. But I guess it's all relative, I mean, it's only sexist if men do it right?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well first of all you can't tell me to stop posting.. That's the whole point if this site us to state your opinion..and even If I did "dig a hole" for my self can get my ass straight out because you can't get mad when someone speaks their opinion and plus it wasn't directed to his post so get your facts right Hun before you get cut

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And Women will not understand what Men go through.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Vvv reAd below

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So what if women have children. It's natural! You have a choice to have children also. It's not like at 21 you automatically become pregnant.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yea,but phisically women can't take all the stuff men can and that's not our fault..

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I've seen plenty of guys get their asses beat by girls. It's not the sex of the person its the build of the person.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wow you really don't get it fo you???

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No I get it. You're one of the women who want all the benefits of equality without the burdens that come with it. I find that sexist.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I didn't say that... What I'm saying is that you shouldn't go around claiming Women don't suffer if you don't know ..

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Please quote me where I said "Women don't suffer" You can't. Also you may not have said it but you were implying it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No I didn't imply it but you did....

How is this struggling? Women aren't bought and forced to do this. Women have choices if they want to get married and have babies. I know plenty of men who clean the house and take care of the kids while the women work. I'm finished with this argument, you seem to think you can pull evidence out of thin air and it's automatically right.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Moejoe, I'm assuming your a woman, so let me say this. Most girls are really smart, you seem to be the exception. You are so blind to real life and the problems that both sexes face. Are you 15 years old, thinking your problems carry over to all girls? Do you think that females, and females only live shitty lives while men prosper like gods? lolusomad.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wow so I'm "the exception" wow you're so smart, and you even have great comebacks!!!! And btw yes I am 15 your point being??? And who said ,that I even thought of a terrible thought such as that....

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Looks like somebody is going rage-mode. Your grammar keeps getting worse and worse, which implies that you are getting so angry you can't even type correctly or proof-read. But in response, you seemed to imply that your thought process was as such. Whining about "Derp, we women have it so much teh harderz in life." No sex has it easier, and no sex has it harder. Case, fucking, closed.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That post really doesn't prove and thing but you're a little pussy who can't finish what he starts...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't even understand your logic. You start an argument by posting something completely irrelevant to a comment you were replying to. You then start whine and parrot yourself. Then, when you are beaten, you resort to calling the victor a "little pussy." Your last post was redundant by the way, I have actually proved that nobody has a right to complain, you haven't proved anything other than you're an upset troll. -tl;dr... You and Twitchy started this, not me, your statement is null.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wow ok keep thinking you've "beaten" me down....so far you called me not smart(because of me stating MY opinon) and upset troll(hmm haven't gotten that one before) someone with bad grammar(0-o wow like you really have room to talk with your "great" grammar and "awesome "comebacks) blind to life(haha really?)hypocrite(don't even get me started on you)hahahaa wth else do you have for me? :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

On your profile you claim that you don't like to start 'cyber-fights.' You instigated one right here. This wasn't even supposed to turn into an argument, but it did anyway because you egged it on.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Twitchey has a point. Men really do suffer from sexism. Women are often portrayed as the helpless innocent victim where men are portrayed as violent, sex-obsessed, and unfeeling. This hurts women because they aren't allowed to get certain jobs in the military and aren't allowed to play certain sports. It also hurts men because they are expected to not show their feelings in public or ask for help.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

OMG. We've had this discussion twelve bajillion times. We don't force women to sign up, because women are the ones that get pregnant. Men help them, of course, but it only takes one man to impregnate hundreds. Hell, one man could impregnate every woman on earth if he wanted to. But if there was just one woman left, you can't repopulate so easily. If you don't wanna read the whole thing VVVVV It's because women have children. Holy Freaking Monkey Balls.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So you're saying women don't sign up for the draft because we're afraid there aren't going to be enough women left for civilization, rather than the long-conceived notion that men are the ones who should be manly and go fight?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't think we'd ever run out, but having a shortage of women isn't a good thing. If you're just going by the societal roles placed on men, then yeah, women should sign up too, because both are able to fight.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The percentage of women who would theoretically die in the military is insignificant compared to the 150 million women in the US, let alone the world. Besides, isn't it better for a society to have equal amounts of men and women, rather than a surplus of women and shortage of men? It's not like only women would join the military, so your theoretical shortage of women, wouldn't happen.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I see hmm

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The draft? What is this crap?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

In the US, when guys turn 18, then have to register for the draft so that if the government decides to implement a draft, they have everyone's name.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Shit I didn't know stuff like that still happened. Sorry for my ignorance, I'm in the UK.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think your "ignorance" is more than excusable considering you don't live in the country where it happens haha

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There isn't a draft in Australia either.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It hasn't happened in a while. The major one was in World War 2. I think, but I'm not sure, but I think there was one during Vietnam.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Agree completely. Although, I think we should be excused from going to war if we're actually pregnant or have a young child (though the latter is debatable if another guardian is involved), but not simply because we have the ability to get pregnant. And I highly doubt underpopulation will be a problem in the near future.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The government (made of mostly men) has voted on it before, a few times, and they voted no, so blame them not women.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Women should sign up for the draft at 18, but there are a lot of factors to consider. I personally believe that women should simply because there are so many women fighting in the war now that really they're proving their equality. However, we also have to think of the family dynamics. If both a mother and father are drafted, what would that do to their children? There are a lot of things like that that need to be considered and written in if a female draft is put in place.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They don't let a wife/husband both participate in war because of similar complications and the idea that they might fight for each other instead of the cause, making problems.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

But why must it be the women who stay home while the men go out and fight? It would be easy to make a law that would allow one family member to stay home from the war. Or, better yet you could just not draft people in the first place.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'll probably get a lot of flack for this, but I really don't believe that, for the most part, women are as strong as men. Our bodies just aren't built the same. Plus, there are a lot of control situations, like with locals, where it's really not safe to stick a woman. G.I. Jessica, anybody? They get raped.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Women, in general, don't want true equality. That's why the amendment they tried to pass about this died in the 70's. Plus, if we had true equality, that would apparently include no separate bathrooms, which I don't think anyone wants.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

what about periods? serious question...how do women who are in the field for more than a couple months deal with their periods? and what if you got taken hostage? would you just be like umm excuse me mr. taliban sir, can I please have a tampon? I seem to be bleeding all over your nice prison floor.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm pretty sure if you are held hostage by the Taliban the last thing you'd be thinking about is getting blood on the floor.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The general view of women as a group is that we want equality, but treat us special. In reality, some women want equality and some want special treatment. They aren't usually the same people...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think if they should have to sign for the draft. HOWEVER, if they are drafted, I don't think they should have to serve on the front-lines in combat situations. Not to be sexist (which really this comment shouldn't be) but the fact is, Men are built differently than Women. In general men are the physically stronger sex. If I'm a 200 lb. male soldier who was wounded, I would want to be pulled out by a 230 lb male, not a 150 lb woman. There would be exceptions, if say a 180 lb muscular "Rosie the Welder" was drafted, she should be able to serve in combat if she pleased. However, field nurses, transport, and even pilot positions would be perfect for a drafted woman, that way, everybody has a job.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I would think that if they were married, pregnant, or had to take care of a dependant, they wouldn't have to sign up. Other than that, I don't know why they (the government) already haven't done this.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

My personal opinion is that nobody should be forced to sign up for the draft. The country has no right to force anybody (male or female) to leave their homes and families to die because some dumb politician felt like it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The reason why women can't be drafted in the U.S is because the supreme court ruled that because women aren't allowed to serve on the front-lines in combat and are excluded from other military positions and that when a draft was required those are the positions that they need.“Since women are excluded from combat, Congress concluded that they would not be needed in the event of a draft, and therefore decided not to register them. Men and women, because of the combat restrictions on women, are simply not similarly situated for purposes of a draft or registration for a draft.” So yeah, it basically boils down to: Women are allowed to be discriminated against by the military because there is nothing in the constitution that says they can't be the same goes for men -_-
